DDT was not the danger. The old propellant fluorocarbon was the culprit. Everything fluoriine reacts with becomes toxic. Fluorine is the most reactive element on earth. Fluoride is a derivative of flourine. The decrease in the number of song birds, since 1967, is not from outlawed DDT but the fluoride in the water.
