Mid-Valley Sports : Hampton: OSU men's bb to run; Nelson news

The year was his redshirt year. He was not OK'd by the NCAA clearinghouse when he originally came to OSU.

He paid for his own way his first term at OSU and apparently he had to be on scholarship for the NCAA clock to start running. Also, he was a half-credit short.

Nelson will play, it's just a matter of when. Right now he has to sit out until Dec. 10 (a full year after he got on scholarship) and his first game would be Dec. 12. There is still a possibility he'll be cleared to play earlier than that. Barring injury, he will play at least starting in December.

Mid-Valley Sports : Hampton: Worst loss ever part 2

Beaverpride, I think you're being a little too hard on Robinson. If anything, he's been distracted by his newborn, not his brother or a possible next stop. He knows there's no excuses for a game like that, but as bad as it was (and it was as bad as you can get), it was one game. My questions are more about the team's issues that have been exposed since the start of the season. They were all the more glaring against Seattle. The reality is Robinson has only had a couple of months with a team that has his first recruiting class on it and two of those players - Roberto Nelson and Rhys Murphy - would no doubt make a big difference at least on offense. Robinson has been coaching players who played under Jay John. I think it might be a much tougher job than most of us realize.

Jennifer Moody : Moody: Harry Potter dreaming, out Orlando way

I was there last spring and saw the area under construction. It looks pretty fun if you're a Harry Potter fan. For those that don't know, this is a part of a larger theme park (Universal's Islands of Adventure), not an entire Harry Potter-themed park. There will be rides. At least one extremely expensive, high-tech one and a couple others.

Mid-Valley Sports : Oregon debacle

Add to post: Blount was suspended for the season. I think this was the right move and is good for Oregon in the long run. This was battery on an opposing player and essentially battery on a teammate as well. Anything less than a season would be too soft. Now the Ducks can put the issue behind them and work on improving on the field.

Mid-Valley Sports : Why OSU will win 8 or more games (a theory)

Thanks for the compliment I'm pretty sure Cliff isn't jumping on any team's bandwagon, though, and his pick of 7-5 is only one game short of mine... I agree that the Beavers will be good and the schedule will fall in line for them. Kevin
