Anybody with half a brain knew this would happen.
The state is not going to lose $475,000,000 in profits without a way to recoup the loses. So Liquor will cost more.
Also the rule about stores that are over 10,00sq ft. is uninforcible. That would be like saying only software companies as big as Microsoft can sell software. This will never hold up in court.
And there is more to come. From selling to minors to more drunk drivers on the road. Just wait until the figures come out on those.
The people have been scammed once again and all it took was 20 million to do it. How does it feel to be bought and sold when you didn't profit by it but big business did. Washington Voters came cheap.

Yeah they are going to offer jobs that are part time, seasonal for 10.00 an hour with no benefits. What a deal. You can't pay your rent or mortgage with this much less feed your family. They will make more on unemployment insurance. If I was one of the paople that lost their job just so Costco can make more money for their shareholders I would say F U as well.

I have lived from NYC to San Francisco have you? If you go to the lower class niegborhoods you will find a liquor store almost on every corner complete with the stink of alcoholics and drug pusher standing or passed out on the pavement. That may be a little exaggerated but not much. We don't have that here do we. There is reason for it. Why do we need to pollute Washington State more than it already is?
About the 1000 people that will be fired because of no fault of their own just so Costco can make more profit and the drunks can have easier access to their booze. Does this sound OK to you? It doesn't to me.

You are right I should clean up my language. It was uncalled for. My apologies.
But let clear up a few things. Costco is saying that the bill is for stores 10,000 sq feet or more. It is unfair business to say one store can sale something and the other can't because of size. This will be changed within a year. They only put that claus in the bill to make it more appealing to the voters knowing that it can't be enforced. There is already a law suit in the works.
Costco admits that the way this will bring more revenue to the state is buy selling more alcoholl. Is this a good thing? NO !!!!

And they still shipped jobs overseas. Do the tax breaks to big business and the wealthy bring more jobs to US workers. Maybe we should ask GE and Microsoft the same questions, Proofs in the pudding. You can't hide from facts.

You think that's bad. About of 1000 people will be laid off from Washington state liquor stores just so Costco can make more money and the good people of our state can have easier access to their booze. Their average age is about 45. IN this economy where are they going to find a decent paying job. Costco has no plans on hiring them. Yeah maybe minimum wage with no healthcare benefits where they will not be able to support their families.

They should be able to figure out who did what and who didn't do what. Every piece of work is supposed to be signed off by the person who did the work and also the one who inspected the work.
