Thanks for writing. The point I'm trying to make, somewhat clumsily, is that most organizations are using FB to try to drive actions that take place on other platforms. So it doesn't make sense to build your campaign only around in-network actions. Likes and reach and so on can definitely be useful and they're certainly easy to track, but stopping their is a mistake, but because you can accomplish every last in-network goal you've set for yourself and still not have gotten your fans to take the one action you really wanted them to take -- buying, donating, whatever. FB actions are important, but they're just a means to an end -- and that's why they shouldn't be the focus on your strategy. -- Jesse
