Trouble with this is that during the Bush administration the public was all too happy to call us murderers if they even *thought* something in the middle of combat was awry. Marines sat in prison cells because the word of the ENEMY was deemed more truthful (by lawyers here as well as the media and, well, the public) and Senators even accused them on national television. When they were exonerated, hardly a peep was heard.
The military does not own its weapons...the people do. Most troops do not have a weapon unless actually in a combat zone.
After 8 years of not being given the benefit of a doubt, not many in the military are willing to go out on a limb anymore without proof. So, write your Senators and Congressmen and DEMAND that at least his citizenship records be released. Hawaii's Governor, no doubt an Obama lackey, just made a law that they can ignore requests for this information. Put the pressure on. The military....is tired of sticking its neck out only to be derided for being wrong. Do something as Americans for once. Why do you think Obama campaigned for a "national police force" at least as strong as the military....its because America CAN still trust the military, but Obama....doesn't.
Unfortunately, he is (at least) elected, and until proven otherwise, the President. Please people get the information out. The military isn't going to go into Oahu guns blazing. We aren't murderers. You can go to your Senators.

Its not going to happen. Enlisted are sworn to obey the orders of the president and all officers appointed over them. Pretty sure the oath is a little different for Officers...
If the citizens of the US won't demand the truth, its unlikely that Officers in the armed forces (who as I understand aren't under the same strict obligations) are going to rise up to do the same, unless the truth is out.
Soldiers/Sailors/Airmen/Marines etc aren't allowed to disobey orders of those over them unless they KNOW the order is unlawful. As long as the citizens of this country keep letting the administration circle the wagons around the truth, and as long as the media keeps poopooing people who seek it...those orders will be followed, because "we suspect" he's not a citizen-is not the same as he isn't.
His citizenship is IMHO completely relevant to this trial and I like many others no doubt in the armed services, am watching it closely. Like most Americans who actually want the truth and not soundbites....I want to know the truth. Unfortunately as we are in an innocent until proven guilty society, he's going to get away with it until the PUBLIC demands it.

You're preaching to the choir, I think; the media...of course loved him if only because of the reams of money poured into his campaign and indirectly...the media. The previous campaign year(s) lead to all sorts of misinformation being put out about Bush, the Military, etc etc and it went unchecked in the media because it made for a good story...so therefore any candidate who wasn't "Bush" or a Republican was going to be the Messiah, so to speak.
So...we elected....someone who with the most open administration in history.....won't even confirm for us that he's even an American.

Wait and see, wrt the military. I agree that this might appear as weak however this hearing is just the one to see if it is worth going to trial, as I understand, much like a grand jury. The meat and potatoes (should) come out when it actually does.
So once they determine if he "missed movement" and if he "failed to report" (both of which he did) his trial should find out if he is actually justified in doing so, one would hope.
I just wish more people would have been having this debate in 2008 instead of clamoring to the polls, eyes glazed over with the media blitz.....instead of now.
The military....only does what the people WE elect tell them to do. It's quite a quandary that the top person of the Military chain of command may or may not be a usurper, because his supporters have circled the wagons against any detractors, and the judges are ruling without even looking at the evidence. Congress is the only power right now able to do something about this, but at the moment they are an Obama stooge gallery and unwilling to do anything.
