West Ham Till I Die : An Opportunity Scorned, but was the Defeat Such a Surprise?

What an excellent post. For far too long we have been on the back foot(Tevezgate ?) and it has led to a lack of confidence. The manager making these statements about the England job is ,in my mind,a symptom of that .In other words we are not important enough. The most important thing about the club, any club, is the supporters. Our supporters are the greatest and in my mind deserve the very best.We have turned into that thing that was always levelled at Chelsea that they were a music hall act.We are not taken seriously enough and are the butt of too many negative stories. The sooner we regain some confidence based on our support and our history the sooner we will be heading towards that goal of top four in the premier league.

West Ham Till I Die : As I Wasn't Saying Yesterday... Olympic Lease Could Be Good News

One of the many things associated with this slanging match I don't understand is Barry Hearn's analysis. His assertion,as if it were a scientific fact, is that Leyton Orient will go out of business if West Ham move closer to Brisbane road-presumably because his club's fans are so disloyaland that gates will suffer. I realise of course that he is making political capital to in some way enhance the Orient. However if you make statements as if they are facts then you have to back them up - this is how science works! I ask- where is his evidence? More importantly someone should be asking for the evidence on which he bases his claims (maybe journalists-oh no I forgot). The problem is he keeps making these claims and unfortunately they can then turn into a given.Does he really think that the government is going to allow this stadium to become the proverbial white elephant. It is to become a 60000 seater whith an athletics track .It is not suitable for Leyton Orient. His analysis needs to be rigorously examined. I hate the way we seem to be on the back foot with him and I love someone to ask him to put up or shut up.

West Ham Till I Die : Vote: Player Performances v Doncaster Rovers

I don't think that it is a small thing ,it is definitely something to be very proud of .Well done to the travelling support. Last season's disaster was clearly very dispiriting, but I would rather be relegated than play the sort of football I have just seen from Stoke. They contribute nothing.

I think that this is an excellent analysis, with very well made points. Are there any prospects you have in mind to fill this slot?

Totally agree with your last comment regarding Tomkins,Collison and Noble. I think that they are of the 'this far and no further' variety. We should be rebuilding the club around them.Clearly every player has his price and if we are talking £20 million each .....But as I posted earlier West Brom were reported to have bid £2.5 mill for collinson, talk about kicking a man when he's down.(£16+ mill for henderson!).In their 10 point declaration to West Ham fans the owners said we should preserve our academy players -we should hold them to account. To be fair Gold has tweeted that they will not sell Collison.Tomkins? One of a number of reasons to dislike spurs(Levy) we must remember is Carrick.Sold by us for £2.5 mill then sold by them 18 months later for £18 mill,he of course was one of three ex West Ham players who took part in this year's champions league final.

West Ham Till I Die : The Big Guns Cherry Pick to Maintain the PL Status Quo!

Arsenal don't have a sugar daddy and I would like to think that thay are ultimate role models. Therefore a full to capacity OS would be start. As I have posted before a quote from a member of the board (DS) said that ‘ we should be looking to find the next Ronaldo’ .I assume that this process has not yet started. The link given here is from the I newspaper and refers to the policies and practices of Udinese in Italy. In summary: 1.town of 100,000 2.Gates of 17,000 3.Turnover less than any English premier league club last year 4. In champions league next year (inc. 7-0 away at Cagliari) 5. 50 foreign scouts scouting second tier countries 6. Discovered Sanchez as 16 year old and paid 2m euros and then loaned him out for two seasons. 7. Have 64 players out on loan! 8. Earned 112 euros on players over last 10 years 9. Many well know players are or have played for them e.g. Gyan. I notice that in addition to interest in Sanchez from the top tier, Everton are interested in a centre back from Udinese. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-... There are elements to their scheme that I am sure that West Ham can adopt if indeed we are to find the next Ronaldo. I wonder how that quest is going ?

West Ham Till I Die : Release Clauses Activated!

These are two articles from i which I think should give every West Ham supporter food for thought (if you can wade through them).David Sullivan once said that they should be trying to find the next Ronaldo.(How's that going by the way?) http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-...

West Ham Till I Die : So Big Fat Sam It Is - But Not in My Name

The' West Ham Way' is to almost never come back after going a goal down and certainly not to win from a losing position. It is also to lose after going into a two goal lead. This is the reality .The club should be firmly cemented into the second tier of the premier league with designs on further progress. Our history and the most fantastic supporters should expect this .Instead we have totally lost confidence in ourselves and I feel the team knows this.I hope a new manager will breed confidence in all associated with West Ham.One final point- although the Barcelona way is the fantastic passing game carried out by superb (largely) home grown players, the thing that impressed me about Saturday's game was the way that Barcelona defended -MU hardly made any progress when they had the ball.Defending is part of the game .There are lessons for all West Ham fans to learn from and reflect on from Saturday night-not least that three of our ex players were playing.
