Big Hollywood : Samuel L. Jackson: 'I Voted for Barack Because He Was Black'; His Message Didn't Mean $%*@ To Me

The assumption the people should vote one way or another because of their ethnicity or race is abhorrent to me and it is just another example of racism. That being said, Jackson is a moron because he isn't voting with his brain, thinking what is best for America. I would certainly not vote for somebody because they were from the South and "white" (for example, I would never, under ANY circumstances, vote for John Edwards). To vote on skin color is to completely miss what Martin Luther King tried to teach America.

What, you can't see the difference between paying for a war and giving away free money? One is constitutionally mandated, the other is just redistribution of wealth.

I guess I was speaking more metaphorically. By the poor, I mean the perpetual victim class that always blames others for their shortcomings. Thus, the "poor." Plenty of people with low wealth do not consider themselves poor.

the governing powers look to the bourgeois as their tool for gaining votes among the so-called disenfranchised and poor. The poor despise the bourgeois because they earn their keep. Nothing conservative about either.

I had daughters, so sadly, no James Tiberius. But one of my favorite characters (not a "regular") was immortalized in my last daughter's middle name: "Reilly."

Hmm, I think you have a mistaken idea of the bourgeois. I don't recall a conservative movement going after the middle class and small business. And conservatives are heavily into property rights, as the bourgeois clearly are.

Takei and his feud with Shatner is making him (Takei) look bad in comparison to Shatner. If not for this vitriol between the two, their interactions in old age would be a lot more fun.

Well, to be completely fair in the comparison, we have to remember that the timeline that (Pine) Kirk grew up in was different from the (Shatner) Kirk of TOS that we all know and love. In the original timeline, Kirk's dad didn't die in an attack. Thus, Kirk's whole worldview is turned on its ear by the death of the primary male role model, and replaced by a total dork.
