The article said nothing about using "our tax dollars" to do this. IUSB owns the house it will tear down. It should be allowed to do whatever it likes with its own property. Should I need to ask my neighbors if I want to renovate my property? No, then why should IUSB?

I appreciate that cops have to put up with more than most of us on a daily basis. However, that doesn't give them the right to be above the law.

They have authority over us. They ask to be put in these tough situations (otherwise they wouldn't be cops). Just because they are forced to deal with tougher situations does not mean that they get to live, and work, by a relaxed set of rules.

Instead they should be held to a higher standard because of their authority. What does it say about them if they are not punished for breaking the laws they are required to enforce.

They shouldn't be cops if they can't handle the responsibility. And, it's not the right calling if they can't treat the people they have authority over with respect.

You're right and all of us would lose our jobs if we lost our temper and punched someone while we were at work. Add to that the fact that cops must be held to a higher (not lower) standard because of the control they can exercise over us "normal citizens." This officer, like the rest of us would be, should be fired and charged with battery for hitting an unarmed man while not acting in self defense.

I agree with your outrage, but the judge is the wrong person to be angry at. The jury did not convict her of murder and the judge gave out a longer sentence than was advised. The judge's hands are largely tied on how long he can sentence her. If you want to express your outrage to someone who can change it write your state legislator and ask them to vote for stiffer penalties for this type of crime.

What unintended consequence of "Obama care"? As far as I can tell this poor woman didn't have insurance. Probably couldn't get insurance because of a pre-existing condition. So she did something that would force the ER to treat her and to treat her for the pre-existing care. Under, what you and many others, so elegantly call "ObamaCare" insurance companies would be required to cover her, in spite of a pre-existing condition. I can tell you hate Obama and everything he stands for but please don't let facts get in the way of your hatred and ignorance.

How much of your income already goes to healthcare? I know I already pay over $100.00 per week for my wife's insurance and still have a $2,500.00 deductible. She is 28, skinny, non-smoker, with no preexisting conditions. I would much rather pay that towards taxes and be able to insure everyone and have no deductible. This is a Democracy and my vote goes towards a complete healthcare overhaul.

I am completely agree candygirl. This happens all the time and drives me insane. I think it may be an attempt to intimidate the honest/innocent people in the cars who are just following the rules. Regardless of why its done, I really wish the cops would/could do something about it.

I agree, I'm all for the right to own guns, I'm a gun owner myself. But unless you already have it in your hand the chance of drawing it, and doing any good, after someone already has a shotgun pointed at you are very slim.

In all likelihood the homeowner would have been shot for a "few dollars."
