Our system is better because when my husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer he was able to be operated on within 2 weeks as opposed to waiting 6 months because it is "typically" slow growing. Because of that he was able to get the timely care he needed, and avoid bone cancer. Our system is better because when Senator Dodd was diagnosed he was able to go to Sloan Kettering for his surgery as opposed to the local hospital near where he lives...in Iowa, excuse me CT I forgot.
