Sanctuary cities, now endorsed by the Senate, are not sanctuaries for everyone.

For decades I have believed that the quickest way to end Castro Communism would be to unleash the American tourist dollar on Cuba. This policy has been a mistake for a long time.

Roberto Micheletti's U.S. Visa should be restored. The act of its revocation is a reflexive, hostile and prejudicial in favor of socialist thugs, such as Hugo Chavez. We have it backwards, which is not a surprise. The United States should remain neutral in its political stance regarding Honduras, remain open and friendly to its people, and treat the current leadership with respect. The expulsion of Zelaya was not a violation of the laws of Honduras, but enforcement of their existing constitution. Like ours, their government is imperfect, but it is theirs, and should be respected.

This is why we revere, or should revere, our men in arms. When called upon, they perform their duty at risk to their own lives. That it was a reporter rescued adds a cruel irony to this, as we know the New York Times to be no friend of our troops in the field. The soldier did his duty. I say this with the greatest respect and admiration. For the soldier. I also say it with some anger. He wasn't saving Private Ryan. An Afghanistan citizen, an interpreter, died as well. One brave soldier and one Afghan citizen for a NYTimes reporter. I would not have made the trade. It is a level of devotion to duty which once again, reminds us why we are the good guys, despite what the NYTimes would have us believe.

The truth is that while men like Madoff prospered, while Wall St. investment firms created new 'products' to sell willing investors, as the bubble grew in the derivatives markets, as the dominant leaders of Wall Street reaped tremendous profits, as politicians swooned about "the strongest economy in the world", we were perpetrating a fraud upon ourselves. Bernie Madoff is a living metaphor, one plastic block in a tower of Legos, which members of Congress could not even begin to consider was about to collapse. What was at stake that made this neglect possible? What force of nature could compel Congress to willingly embrace the pay off, without asking, "where is all this money coming from?". It is simple. THE NEXT ELECTION. That is where Congress had its' eyes. And now, the same blind people push 'health care reform'. Why? THE NEXT ELECTION. Please note I have not referred to either political party. They were all there.

That's it. Now, it's Joe Wilson's War, being fought on American soil. Thank you, Joe.

It's true. Don't apologize. Too much is at stake. Thank you, Mr. Wilson. You said that you "lost it". Listen Mister, we're about to lose more than our tempers. .

I learned years ago that 'big problems' usually have numerous components. With government it is no different. With our "health care system" the problem begins with the term. It implies ownership, as though there was a 'health care system' running around out there that you could buy or sell. What Congress and the President are about to do is take ownership of the system. Rather than repeal laws that interfere with a hospital's ability to operate profitably, they will add rules to its operation. Rather than repeal laws that allow doctors to refuse to see patients who elect to pay for their services rather than use an insurance carrier, they plan on criminalizing not having insurance. Fabricating a dilemma for many into a national crisis for all, I believe that what Congress and the President are about to legislate will, in itself, be a national disaster. I wish it were not so, but I believe while we are standing next to a hundred small solutions, Congress will multiply the problem, with disastrous results.

As hard as I try to be objective, it's too late. This is politics. I don't want to disagree with the President on everything just because I disagree with him on most things. But, sadly, I do not trust him. I have lost trust and faith in Congress. So the result is that I look upon what he says with suspicion because I have yet to look at the body of his work as President and know him to be an honorable man. The fact that he willfully and purposely is omnipresent in our lives causes my resentment to grow. His words are lovely. He is persuasive, and he wants to be loved and agreed with. So, meeting resistance in the reality of his office, he turns to the kids for reinforcement. He is my President and I want to be fair, but his choice to be appealing to children bothers me a bit. Actually, it bothers me a lot.
