The administration said they are not getting a pay increase and they are now paying for more of their own insurance. So they are not getting a increase, and not getting a decrease. Many of the administrators in the district make close to 100,000. A pay cut by them, could save a program or a few staff members. But do they take a cut?? OF COURSE NOT!
"...mostly in arts, music and physical education positions." Half true. The cuts at the High School include a Science teacher, English teacher and the entire French programs. I hope for the sake of the kids the school board wins the arbitration, so 9 great teachers are NOT cut!
I was surprised to read a on the hawkeyepsports.com website, about the LET'S GET MAD AGAIN campaign. (with mad meaning March Madness) With the video and promise to make Iowa a national contender. If you have not seen it yet, check it out. It all sounds great, hope it actually happens. Does anyone know, will season ticket prices decrease again this year?
Not a huge name. Neither was Kirk Ferentz. But he can coach, and has a nice style of play. Plus, sounds like is wife has been kicked out of a game or two, she will add some excitement to carver!!
I think its a fine hire, from a coaching standpoint. But it isn't a name that we were discussing. So this isn't going to make the fans jump for joy, because he isn't a huge name.
I am glad to hear that Cully is going to stay in Iowa City, also glad to hear that he is excited for the next coach. Sounds like he knew we needed a change too.

I know tucker was a pretty good player, but is it a huge loss? The kid gets into more trouble, who knows what would have happened to him if he were to stay. And after he was benched earlier this season the team started playing as 1. I think we will move on nicely after he is gone. I believe the kids from Iowa that grew up wanting to be a Hawkeye will not leave the program.
I really do not miss Steveo. I still believe he is the reason we are in a mess. He turned fans and probably some plays away from the hawks. Much rather watch Lickliter, because I know he is no a egotistical jerk like alford was.
