I'm sorry, I don't have that information. The touring saddle is 277mm long and the race saddle will have the same rails so it should be the same length. The touring saddle is 162mm wide and the race saddle should be a little narrower.

Mark - I confess I saw the cover on your blog. I bought one for evaluation. I was much impressed with the detail and the steps taken to ensure full coverage. But I guess I don't get as excited about saddle covers as some people do. I do think if someone wants that sort of coverage this is a teriffic cover.

So thanks for the tip.

I can think of Lepper, in the Netherlands, and new entry Gilles Berthoud. There are also a lot of knock-offs showing up. See "Another Leather Saddle"

Most basic saddles from the different manufacturers looked very similar. In the period after WWII the industry shrunk and consolidated. Brooks bought most of the brands and the Brooks-owned brands were often duplicates of Brooks models with variations to hit different price points.

From a mail list post (with permission)

I just mounted my Cork Berthoud. I agree 100% about the build
quality. Not just the leather. The frame, the mounting bolts, and
even the plastic portions of the frame which I worried may not be
solid enough are all impressive. Not done with the bike, so have not
ridden it yet. The saddle feels comfortable when I sat on it to check
height and angle.

All parts will be available, including the tops. It is a new product and Berthoud and the US distributor have been focused on getting the basic line available to consumers. Repair parts will come soon.

Note included with returned saddle:

"I am very sorry to . . . return this saddle. Based on two rides, though, I doubt very much that it will ever be as comfortable as my (poorly made by comparison) Selle AnAtomica saddles.

There are two Berthoud saddlebags that use the KlickFix mount which screws onto the crescent of the saddle. There is a more elaborate version of the tubular tire bag and there is the regular, paisley-shaped Berthoud saddlebag. We should have these bags pretty soon.
