I too live in this area and used to walk Lake Wa Blvd on a daily basis until recently. It's scary the way some of the drivers are on this road. We need more police patroling the area, especially in the AM when drivers are using the blvd to escape the mess on 405.
What a bunch of selfish twits with nothing better to do than whine about not getting a free plastic bag at the grocery store! Get off your buts and get/make a reusable bag or two or take advantage of the free ones being offered at most stores. Throw them in the wash on laundery day and quit whinning. That way you're not using paper or plastic. Of the few responsible people posting here you left out another important reason to give up the free, cheap plastic bags people here seem to be so addicted to which are the birds and fish species that injest this crap and die.
Maybe the solution is to have a specific swim time for women who choose to go topless. I'm sure Jodi doesn't go around the neighborhood with no top and there are tons of options in clothing for women who have had breasts removed, including swimsuits. People shouldn't have to try to explain to their 4, 5, 6, etc year old children something as serious as breast cancer at the local swimming pool.
My water, sewer and trash are all bundled together and my basic bill is currently over $100 a month. It seems as if I get a raise in rates at least once a year and I think last year there were 2 raises. Our rates are high enough but apparently those raises are not going to wage increases for the workers. If the workers are still getting raises in this economy, then they need to stop being greedy and just do their job, which as some here have pointed out, others would love to have.
You really want some inexperienced guy driving one of those huge trucks with arms that come out to grab your can? Just a retorical question, no reply needed.
In some cities you are required to have trash pickup. I live in one. I can refuse to put my can out but my bill will still be charged and have to be paid or the water is turned off. No water, property not habitable by law. Find out what your city does if you choose to haul your own trash to the dump before actually cancelling.
A slap in the face of the victims who this depraved twit emotionally raped. So tired of people like powell not getting what they deserve from these judges. Powell's attorney's statement of "it's not clear exactly when Powell took the pictures, and it could have been before the state made voyeurism a ranked felony in 2006." is one of the most ridiculous things to come out of an attorney's mouth. Will powell even go to an actual prison or just an easy street chair in the county jail? He'll get out and contiune his sleazy ways while these children victims of his will probably need a few years of therapy. Doesn't seem to be much justice from the courts anymore.
Wonder why people don't just realize that divorce is easier and cheaper in the long run!
One of the reports said that the mother didn't know anything about her baby being mistreated. I'm confused as to how that could be - was she in the hospital or jail while all this was going on and if so, why wouldn't the baby be with the grandmother or the baby's father? I don't understand how a mother can let a boyfriend of all people take care of her baby when there are other people to take care of her if the mom was incapacitated. Mom has a few questions to be answered in this horrific case. Boyfriend needs to have 'it' cut off and jailed for the rest of his life, which if rumors are true about prisioners like him, should be short!
