Right now I am stuck in Midwest. Coverage has been brutal. Saving grace is U of I, believe it or not, is even worse.

Although there are many disturbing aspects the two that stand out are:
1. DeStephano, Benson, Bohn are talking as if they have invented something. Need fan & alumni support, new facilities, etc. Seriously, do they not get out of the office and cruise campus, attend a FB game, etc. It is disingenuos to the point of misappropriating the truth.
2. THis same brain trust have gone through this how many times? The results speak for themselves. The consultant, if that is what they really are, should tell DeStephano and Benson shut up, only say hello and would you like that on the rocks. Bohn should be told get this under control with a football solution or you are gone. Same repetitive actions expecting different outcomes is insanity.

CU needs to move forward & DeS, Benson, and Bohn are in the way.

I thought the KU game last yr was hard to stomach - this one had the same stench and after taste. Embree and staff should stop living on past personal successes and start coaching.

Tried to keep an open mind about this team, coaches, and administration. Recognize this is the first game and loss.
But when you kill yourself with penalties, allow QB 50 yd TD run, and do not utilize tall, fast, talented wideouts it is the same as
Hawk era.

Expected way more and got even less.

So let me get this straight - make bad hires, broke, payoff bad hires, and negotiate a pay raise and new contract. Very clear as to how we got in this position. DUH!

The weak link in the coach selection process is Bohn & De-Staff-no. This is not a brain trust I feel comfortable in making such
a decision. Hawk is responsible but so are those two and as par for the course you hear no words indicating responsibility.

This athletic program needs more true Buffs in key positions. If Bohn were fired tomorrow and hired by another college he would immediately be loyal to them.
So he is loyal via the paycheck. This leads me to picking administration and coaches who are part of the Buff Nation. If Coach C wins out or even goes 2-1 he needs to bein the final three.

I find it amazing that anyone remotely associated with CU sports would have such opinions about FB next coach. Either take less
alcohol, drugs, or coffee or more but to give Bohn such an idea is scary because he just may go and do it.

Start thinking in terms of "big kid" schools and coaches: Northwesterns coach, Leach, etc. When you have low goals and fail to achieve you will remain a looser.

Congrats to Cody on your recognition. Coach Snyder's comments about Cody being a quality person speaks volumes for me.

Bing a Buff is a priviledge and an honor and Cody has earned it. I will say, to this point, the Hawkins family has been very professional.
I do feel for Hawk, yes I was extremely critical, I can't help but think he is a better coach than his results. I do warn the Buff Nation - it take more than one person to fail. Bohn is just as culpable.

Buff Nation - As much as I want to celebrate today I cannot help but feel for Hawk. It is never a good "thing" for anyone to get fired, let alone fired in this economy. The fact that he is the only CU coach to be dismissed prior to the end of the season
not only recognize his failings but is an indictment on CU athletics and the executive administration.Emotionally we may feel better because the evil doer has been ousted but I believe we all know it is illogical to put 100% blame on him. When I
read "DiStefano, ...said he hopes to hire a coach with BCS level experience. He said it would also be wise to hire someone with roots in the Pac-12 or the Big 12." I want to hurl. Why was this not the approach 4 yrs ago or end of last year? Simply
the administration officials are riding the Buff Nation emotional response to gain favor. They need to be held accountable as well as Hawk.

If Buff Brian wins out then maybe I feel differently.

Fortunately Illini 65 - Michigan 67 in 3 ot's so no one was listening or watching.  Tell your students the CU-KS game was really an advertisement on why you need to stay in school and get your education - a mind is a terrible thing to waste.  Good luck.

For me this epitomizes what is wrong with CU athletics - lack of leadership, lack of proactive decision making ability, and lack of intestinal fortitude. Name one corporation where after four years the operations manager can't make a decision and the production manager cannot produce and are still employed by that firm. Contract or not they would not be employed.

Additionaly Bohn is doing a tremendous diservice to Hawk & CU. Hawk has dug his own grave but letting him continue to flounder about is like leaving a pitcher in a game after he has given up 10 runs. It only hurts CU.

More importantly - with this administration who in their right mind would want to coach at CU? I remember the Fairbanks experiment - that was also very painful.
