Pottery Barn is great but frankly -- anyone can copy a page from a magazine. A true design expert thinks outside the box. You loved the mirrored doors above the fireplace (so did I) BUT the tv was place too high as was the bedroom tv -- Talk about a kink in your neck. These are things a true designer thinks about before placing and maybe the two contestants needed more time -- we no longer need to hide the sleek tv's. Antonio had a problem with accessorizing, scale and furniture placement -- he is not a designer so he gets a pass. These are a few of the flaws from my stand point. They both had problems. Give Antonio a chance... I'm sure Dan has a great career ahead of him.
What is going on here? How did they spend the $5000? These rooms were all disasters. HGTV Design Star -- you are ruining the interior design profession. I am ashamed of the judges for giving these designers any encouragement. You provided the designers/decorators with 20 hours, $5000, and a carpenter. They should have produced awe-inspiring rooms but these rooms were better before. My clients could do a better job or visualize the potential of a room easier than most of your contestants.
