I'll be keeping a very close eye on my high-schooler's world history textbooks and curriculum. Any of this crap shows up, he'll be pulled from the class.

I have read the book three times and it never fails to move me. The Boy plays a pivotal role in keeping the Man's morals grounded. It is a beautiful and moving story. Looking forward to seeing the movie.

Well, you know in the original they actually wore orange/red jumpsuits. But now it's been changed to blue coats. The more you watch in the show, the more you notice.

If they edited that out, they would have had to edit out a whole lot more. Interesting in the indoctrination of the youth/people that they are giving them blue coats, as opposed to the Nazi brown coats. Same intent though. If the ratings stay high, hopefully they will have the guts to continue. If they do, I'll keep watching. Can't wait to see what they throw in there next week!

The show was extremely entertaining and the correlations between the current administration/government and the aliens were dead on. From Peace and Change, National Health Care, indoctrination of the youth, and media bias, it was like watching reality tv!

I completely understand the marketing - but if something is rated PG-13, why would someone take a child younger than 13? Or else why wouldn't the parent see it first and then decide if it was acceptable for their children to watch? There are also parent web sites out there that will break the rating down for you and tell you explicitly what is in the movie.

It was rated PG-13 for a reason....why do parents insist on bringing younger kids to movies like this?

I went to see the movie because my 14 year old wanted to see it. I was pleasantly surprised in that it was pretty enjoyable. I found the adult humor very humorous (we had a good laugh at the brass balls). What I did find irritating is that parents brought their 3, 4, and 5 yr olds to the movie. This is definitely not a movie for the younger set. - PG 13 means just that - 13 and older. My son remarked as we left, "well I guess those little kids behind us learned some new words". He got that right.

Okay - so let me get this straight. You can trade in your "old" gas guzzler and they will give you either a $3500 or $4500 voucher. You use this money on a new car. Now you've got a car payment...and now you lose your job...and now they repossess the car cause you can't make your payments...gee sounds like a great deal to me...NOT.
