I'm afraid you're a little dilusional, sir. I saw no mention of Obama until your post. How and why would you try to turn this incident into a political debate? This has nothing to do with Obama or even politics in general. This was a person who was pulled over and found to have multiple outstanding warrants, requiring arrest. The suspect resisted arrest and refused to comply with an officer's instructions, resulting in use of force. This, minus the crowd interference, would have played out the same way regardless of the officer's and the suspect's ethnicities. What you're condoning is violence toward police officers that are doing their job(s) and doing so within the restraints of their authority. For that, I would consider you mentally ill.

You said "what would creeps like this do to my wife and 5 yr old son if we didn't have people like Morgan..." In my opinion, for starters, your wife should be armed. You should be, too. You've got yourselves and a son to take care of and protect, you should enable yourselves to provide the best protection possible. Unfortunately, even if all the officers on the force were comparable to Morgan, they're always minutes away when seconds count. Want to feel safer? Get trained, get armed. Much better to be safe than sorry.

ATTENTION! My last comment, regarding the 2007 incident involving Ofc. Morgan, was in no way defending criminal actions or meaning to slight Ofc. Morgan in any way. I posted that story and link to point out two things. 1) that Ofc. Morgan is exactly the type of cop all departments need. ...Hanging 1/2 way out of a car while grappling with the suspect when the car hits a tree?! ...and still apprehending the creep? Awesome. I was meaning to give the officer an "Atta boy!". My other point, 2) was that the story gave a little background and maybe a little insight as to why Ofc. Morgan didn't escalate the violence by use of lethal force. He obviously felt like he could defuse the situation with less-than-lethal force, and he succeeded. Way to be.

Morgan not jumping the gun, so to speak, and escalating the violence by resorting to lethal tactics. While I fully support the police, I fully support that they act in accordance with the LAW and civil rights and within the restraints of their authority. On a slightly different but somewhat related note, Officer Morgan is dealing with a case of possible excessive force stemming from a 2007 incident. In this 2007 case, he attempted to stop a guy who fled on foot but returned to his car. According to police reports, Morgan pursued Walker and grabbed him through the open door of Walker's vehicle. Morgan was pulled partially inside as the two struggled, and Walker began driving off on Drexel, police said. The struggle continued while the car was moving and that both men were dazed and injured when the vehicle struck a tree. Police said Morgan pursued Walker when he attempted to flee again on foot on North Park Street and then fell in the street. Watson filed a citizen complaint on behalf of her son, saying Morgan then repeatedly struck Walker with his service revolver, causing her son to suffer serious head and facial injuries that required medical treatment. A drug screen conducted after the arrest showed Walker tested positive for cocaine. C'mon, now, remember we're in a politically correct society, we can't say things like that. Even tho, if you have 100 people read this article, all 100 people will assume that the aggressors are African-Americans and probably at least 90 will assume the cop to be caucasian. Where they'd be wrong on the caucasian cop assumption, I'd bet money that the assumption of the crowd's ethnicity is correct. Regardless of ethnicity, anybody involved in an act like this needs to have the book thrown at them. We don't need to be slinging racial slurs here. Their skin color didn't cause their actions.

Not only massive credit for not letting this POS get away, but also for not resorting to deadly force. Being seriously outnumbered and being assaulted by those people... I think that he may have well been justified in use of (more) force, and that being said, those "onlookers" were lucky. I also think that, at the point of them joining in on assaulting the officer, you can cease to call them onlookers and label them as miscreants. Out of all this, only 2 people are arrested? That's disappointing. Sounds like some of those involved got away scott-free. Wish they could ID and arrest all those involved. Maybe next time.

Looks like we can 'chaulk' one up for the good guys. Just watched a disturbing police dashcam video yesterday of a man who got out of his truck with a rifle and got into a shootout with an officer. You could hear the officer get hit a couple times before the man walked up and executed him - very disturbing. I'm glad what happened last night didn't have a similar outcome.

I never said I was a Christian and this has nothing to do with religion. Are you trying to say that illegals will be turned away from hospitals? They'll recieve treatment, we'll end up flipping the bill. And back to your "Christian" statement - um, I hate to tell you this, but people die. Nobody lives forever and I'm positive that my tax dollars will be paying to keep someone alive when they should be allowed to just die. As far as my job, my insurance, my pre-existing conditions - that shouldn't be anyone else's problem but my own. And lastly, no - I won't be retiring. I'm going to work until I die and that goes for many in my generation because the social security just won't be there. Tough breaks.

I know there isn't a one-size-fits-all answer, but I do feel that a better one could be found...perhaps one that doesn't defile our Constitution or trample our personal freedoms? The Constitution on which this country was founded and the freedoms that I feel make this country so great are being stripped away from us and I feel violated. Land of the free?
