think all of them have either closed buildings or parts of buildings or else the dept of corrections or similar agencies have located onto the campuses. They used to house thousands of patients and now have under 300 among all of them.
I think the task force should have made a recommendation. The mental health system needs more beds in locked units but increasing the number of beds and decreasing the settings by one would make economic sense. I would rather a task force composed of mental health professionals would make the recommendation instead of leaving it to people with less experience or political perspectives. Come on, you guys were out there and saw it all. Choose one to close!
Adam, Obviously people are misunderstanding your article if they think the BOS are getting raises as R_C points out. You have the ability to make some clarifying comments. People may still disagree with the board's actions, which is fine. But at least they would disagree based on the correct facts. As it stands, this is simply an inflammatory article. Make all history majors proud and help others come to an understanding of the event that has occurred. :-)
Re: Stanzie Anyone this cool headed and unshakeable should be leading something bigger than a football team. Maybe he should run for Governor or President after he finishes leading Iowa to a bowl win.
How many educators would say that a classroom of 30 students is ideal. How many parents would choose to have their children in a class of 30? How successful are the schools since we have seen No Child Left Behind actually measuring results? Enough said.
