So much info lacking in this article. Does anyone know if this particular variety of fungus emits hazardous spores? If not, and the family isn't experiencing any health problems, then why not spray the compromised sections w/an anti-fungal, put the drywall back up, and be done with it? I'm sure I'm missing some component, perhaps someone more knowledgeable than me on construction and/or fungi matters could enlighten me :)

"I know, there's an huge divide among pasta lovers between starting the pasta in the water first and bringing to a boil, and boiling the water, then adding the pasta. Everyone has an opinion."

Really? I don't know *anyone* who cooks pasta that way--it would be a gummy, sticky mess! I suppose there's no accounting for taste, but geez! Even the blue box of mac & cheese tells you to boil the water first! Ugh. Julia Child is spinning in her grave, people.

Funny thing: I heard many people use the same rationalization when they were contesting their tickets in traffic court. It didn't wash with the judge, either. The law says stop, just stop. What's so difficult about that concept? And the rolling stop thing? You didn't condemn your ex for doing it; in fact, you held it up as an example of why it's ok to run red lights...you referred to it as "completely safe." There's a reason we have a law about this. Your perception of what is "safe" may not be someone else's, and people could get hurt. Just stop at the red, for goodness sake!/facepalm

The law doesn't say "creep through the cross-walk and around the corner." It says STOP. And there's already an "enforcement idea" in regards to pedestrians: it's called jaywalking. And honestly, how can you complain about jaywalkers when you won't even stop before making a right on red? /facepalm

"the burden of proof is not on them to prove it was you driving, it's on YOU, the driver. You have to swear under oath that you were not driving and then rat out the person that was."

Here's what happened to me: my husband ran a red light when he didn't come to a complete stop before turning right. I got the ticket, because my name appears first on the title. I went before the judge, who asked me if I was driving. I said no, he asked where I was at the time, and I gave him that info. That was it. I wasn't asked to "rat out" anyone. I wasn't asked who was driving, only if I was, and I sure as heck didn't volunteer it. Ticket dismissed. Washington state doesn't photograph the driver, only the license plate. There's no burden of proof issue here at all. They assume you were driving, and if not, then it's dismissed.

Not sure how this is crooked. If you have issues with red light cameras in general, that's one thing. But when there's videotape? Even my husband had to laugh--he swore up and down that he had stopped--but he clearly ran the red light. It is still illegal to run a red light in WA, is it not?
