I find it ironic that Muslim nations would be outraged by France choosing to fine this person. In these Muslim nations that endorse (enforce) a woman to wear a veil, WOMEN ARE HIGHLY DISCOURAGED FROM DRIVING!!! Maybe the reason for “discouraging” women to drive is not because of sharia law, but because the enforcers understand that wearing a veil impedes a woman’s vision?
Ladies, you can’t have it both ways. If you choose to follow the Quran, it clearly states "And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their private parts and not to display their adornment except that which ordinarily appears thereof and to draw their headcovers over their chests.” How can you be expected to drive a car while wearing blinders AND having to constantly lower your gaze???
I’m sure Iran will sleep soundly knowing that Brazil is not going to tighten the screws on their sugar or coffee exports. Since the US is Brazils leading importer, Hilary should have tighten the screws on them. In the big picture, Brazil is not going to make much of a impact either way.

I am the father of 5 and have enjoyed years of athletics with all my children. I never understood the “role model” perception that you are talking about. While my children and I admired an athlete for his ability, I can not think of one where he/she was elevated to the “role model” post. If parents allow that type of honor to be given to any one then that is the parent’s disservice to their children. Why give anyone that much power over your children?
