Fielding Yost earned national fame at Michigan for his "point-a-minute" teams -- just like Iowa at Purdue on Saturday. But where is the love for Lickliter?

Oh, Yost coached football. From 1901-23. During the first five seasons under Yost, Michigan outscored its opponents 2,821 to 42, earning the nickname "Point-a-Minute."

Maybe it is time to resurrect the nickname -- a century later, a different school, a different sport.

Sigh.

I love Stanzi.

A week or so ago, Marty at 1700 radio in DM said Stanzi will be #3 QB on the depth chart next fall -- behind Vanderberg and Derby. It was probably schtick -- or he forgot his meds -- I hope.

The word "polarizing" leads me to believe that Alford drove people into two camps -- love and hate.

I can't think of anyone who loved him.

I think he united all Hawk fans into one camp -- Anti-Alford.

They guy was a jerk who couldn't coach. [I am sure Craig Neal is doing the real coaching at NM, just like at Iowa. Only it is easier with a Division II type schedule.]

Tostitos Restaurant Style with a Hint of Lime is one of the finest snack foods in world history, in my opinion.

Agree.

Then ask yourself why the Fiesta Bowl exists in the first place. The answer: To give Arizona State a bowl game when it was snubbed by everyone else. (Back in prehistoric times, like 1970 or so.)

Patterson was smart when he turned down the Iowa State job before Chizik was hired. (Things turned out OK for I-State two years later though.) Still, it would have been nice to have him.

Just after the Indiana game, I went to Kohl's. As I entered, a man and his son (I guess) were headed to the checkout counter with a black-and-gold #12 jersey.

Sweet.

It is obvious from watching this video that the Indiana receiver was out of bounds when he made the catch, that it shouldn't have been a touchdown, and that the correct call was made to overturn the ruling on the field.
