We have to remember this is the same guy who's primary campaign was also declared dead at a certain point. This is not a guy or a political machine who accepts defeat.

Ronald Regan said something to the effect of, "I find it ironic that every person who wants abortion to be legal has had the opportunity to be born."

"During the past year, Republicans refused to do anything but stand in the way of change and Democratic Senators took too long to do too little."

The elected Republicans didn't stand in the way of change because they had no power in either house to do a thing. The health care bill wasn't passed because the 3 Democrat bosses couldn't get Democrats to vote for their bill without bribing their own party colleagues or exempting them from the bill.

Could he be referring to the Republicans at the tea parties who were practicing their 1st amendment right to assemble and petition their government? I believe these Republicans have much more power right now than any elected Republican.

I don't see how he has been luckier than anyone else. He came from a broken home, knocked up my mother when he was 18, and then proceeded to marry her and have another kid before he was 21. Because of that, he couldn't afford the time or money to go to college. I'm still trying to find the luck here.

Some people who do what my dad did might fail, but at the end of the day, they will find a way to make their situation work for them. But I believe a lazy person could never have enough luck to achieve what my father has achieved. I know plenty of people who are in favorable and unfavorable financial conditions. Generally speaking, the better the worker, the better their financial situation. Those who are in bad financial situations seem to me to make poorer decisions, and seem to have less self control, and more of a sense of entitlement (re. they think they deserve a nice vacation every year, think they deserve a certain caliber of car, etc...). And those people seem to be the ones who marvel at my dad's "good luck."

If I could choose to inherit my father's luck or his work ethic, I think his work ethic would get me much farther.

Many religious people think their holier than atheists or people in other religions. Many atheists believe they are smarter, more intelligent than believers. I don't see much of a difference here. I think your last few sentences is a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

Very moving. I am seeing how many people come to being pro-life simply by being around abortion. The doctor who made "Silent Scream" I believe was originally an abortion doctor. Norma McCorvey, aka Jane Roe from Roe v. Wade is now very active in the pro-life movement.

Bush didn't defend himself because I feel he just doesn't care what others think about him. He strikes me as a conscience man.

People tore Bush up about the campaign debates because he didn't use all of his speaking time. I remember turning on a Bush/Kerry debate just as Bush said something to the effect of, "I am pro-life, and this is what I have done to pursue this agenda." And he sited some legislation, such as eliminating funding for foreign abortions, counting a fetus as a murder person when its mother is murdered, etc.

John Kerry goes in to a circular diatribe about how he's "personally opposed" to abortion because he's Roman Catholic. He was even an alter boy. Abortion is not a good thing. He doesn't like abortion, yadda yadda yadda...But he still wants to keep it legal and funded in every way.

This single exchange solidified my vote for Bush. A man who knows who he is, isn't ashamed of it, and who isn't going to try to convince me we agree when we actually disagree.

I just got it. They're accusing the MA voters of biting the hand that feeds them. It's the voters' fault for not being grateful to her.

I was ROFL when Brown was winning 52% over Coakly's 46% with 65% of the votes counted. I was ROFL when Maddow, interviewing Howard Dean said something to the effect of, "Well, I don't want to say Brown is winning. There's still time for her to pull this out. But what do you think of the tightening of this race?"
