I was particularly taken back where maybe 10 minutes in, Cary Grant is being driven at 80 miles per hour by a drunk Ingrid Bergman and they are pulled over by a motorcycle cop and in showing licences Grant advises the officer he is in Law enforcement. They are let off and when the cop leaves, she starts freeking out, thrashing around and babbling some nonesense so Grant pulls her over towards him and punches her in the face knocking her out! Next scene he has put her to bed to sleep it off. Tell me how you could get away with that in a movie today! The country had almost ground to a halt with unions controlling virtually all commerce. See an excellent Peter Sellars movie "I'm all right jack" which was a depiction of the union stranglehold on all kinds of business. Thatcher stood up to them and eventually wore them down to the country's benefit. Sure, there were plenty of riots all union led and organised (much like today) greece a good example, the occupy movement another where unions play a major part in organzation, actually look at any riot taking place and you will find a union somewhere involved.
