While I think using natural gas in city buses is ok, I would like to see city buses and other large municipal vehicles, like garbage trucks, run as hydraulic hybrids. Hydraulic hybrids store energy in hydraulic cylinders, instead of batteries, like most hybrids. While the vehicle still has a diesel engine, it uses the energy from the hydraulic cylinders at vehicle start up, when diesels are the dirtiest.

In the end, people are going use whatever meets their needs, whether its the subway, a car, bike, etc. Stop worrying and get on with life!
