One of the most unthinkable ? I just read today, that a 73 yr old woman was doused with a flammable substance, hit with a flame thrower in Brooklyn N.Y, because she owned the suspect some money for some work he did for her... People are becoming so cruel !!! I can't stand it !!! What's even worse about these cases is when the victim and the suspect knows each other... yes, it's bad when strangers commit acts of violence against people they don't know, but when friends, relatives,associates commits such acts, apparently there was never any love to begin with...

Just because she told the news reporter she keeps the gun locked up means squat !! That's like a shop lifter sayin, " This is my 1st time ever stealing anything".. Maybe it's not his 1st time stealing but the 1st time he's been caught... Maybe she always leaves the gun on the night stand at nite before going to bed, with all the break-ins taking place, single moms definitely don't want to be the next victim of a rape, home invasion,etc... But who knows, after the child kept seeing the mom always putting this object on the nite stand, maybe the child became soo curious to find out what it was...

R U kidding me ? "no gross negligence" ? WHAT ?!!! Navidog, i'm appalled u would say that... U seem like a prior military person.. Of coarse it was gross negligence.. She hears something outside, grabs her weapon, puts it on a nite stand, and not taking into consideration that she has a child in the home... On top of that, why didn't she call the police so they could check the area just incase someone was outside ? "Education" u say ? Well, she must have had some weapons training I suppose, but , if not , even educated people can get careless at times.. People need to be more aware of what they're doing... Awareness & Safety has to be "TOP PRIORITY" in the home if u have weapons ! If not, maybe u shouldn't be a gun owner... She should recieve a warning/ citation for gross negligence.. Next time this happens---- jail time.. This is a life & death situation, especially if childern r in the home..
