If we stay away from the Harry Potter movies we're going to eliminate a huge portion of immensely talented English actors. People, who by the way, have the ability to melt into whatever character they're playing and make you completely forget that they ever played anyone else.

Twilight, though... Yeah, definitely want to stay clear of that abomination.

Steven Waddington has always been my mental Edmure. Although he may be a little too old for the role now. Edmure is the little brother, right?

I lean towards either Brendan Gleeson or Ian McShane for the Blackfish.

Step one would be to eliminate the Americans. Kevin Costner and Jeff Bridges, really? And surely whoever suggested Paul "Crocodile Dundee" Hogan couldn't have been serious. Oh, and Mark Strong and Ralph Fiennes are far too young.

Beyond that I'd prefer to see Sting as Mance Rayder (although Roger Daltrey and David Bowie would work there as well).

Lots of good ideas there, though.

Well, they have everybody signed that they need to start re-shooting the pilot. That buys them a couple more weeks to keep working on contracts for characters that show up later.

I know they don't have any scenes together but I think this sets an upper limit on how tall the actor cast as Littlefinger can be. I don't recall any references to Sam being noticeably short so if 5'8" is considered within the range of average in Westeros then Petyr needs to be considerably shorter than that - 5'6" max, I would say.

I don't know, kids grow. A growth spurt will just add to the realism as far as I'm concerned. Using a little person stand-in for a teenager would look even more ridiculous.
