I too had fallen into a bad eating habits of partial scriptures and wondering why I was still thirsty after drinking so called motivational words and quotable sayings.

Never one to make resolutions, with the beginning New Year I found myself wondering how I had gotten so fat on junk food of fast prayer and quick-shakes of meditation. I have written my SOUL- business plan for living, loving and dining on the Word of God. I have began a Ten week dining experience of the Psalms ( a discipleship bible study program) which requires me to journal and study daily what I have to release, reject and rejoice for a right relationship with the Father, and Son.

I am no longer rushing through the day, worried that I had too much to get done and not enough time. As I have slowed down to study and digest the word , I have rediscoverd that I have time for all the Lord has placed in my path. My tasks at work and home are being completed with time to spare, Time I am using to spend with Jesus and the Word of the Father.

As always, your words are timely and on point. thank you.

As I'm waiting for friends to call (Right now actually) and the phone isn't ringing (though they said they would call), I am reminded that it's HE and I, so I am never alone. I can stop waiting for..... something to do or somewhere to go or someone to call. I am with the One I need to be with right NOW.
So, I am going to spend time with God in conversation. Have a blessed day Marvin, thanks

Thanks Marvin My name is Kym (kim with a Y). Gingerbreadsister is my onlime name and my business. My nephew is very inquisitive and loves to read. His lastest question that we are researching in the bible is __"Who are God's Parents, how was he born?" To an 11 yeaar old I AM is a bit overwhelming and I love that he wants to learn more and he continues to amazes me in his growing (both spiritually and physically) maturity. Keep writing, Grace and peace to you as well.

Marvin,

I been reading your insightful thoughts and meditations for awhile. This one really confirmed for me and my family that God will answer earnest, sincere, persistant prayer. Philipians 4:6-7 has been the scripture that I am studying with my nephew this month. My "Chutzpah" has been lacking and God has reminded me and your column has as well re-iterating that prayer is our serious converstation (s) with God. I am teaching my 11 year old nephew to develop his chutzpah, while God is telling me to continue to develop mine own. Thank you
