OMG... Threats? What happened to civility? Actually, the unions use coercion to get more money to spend on elections to elect people who will give them more of our money. Then they use coercion to get more money to spend on elections to elect people who will give them more of our money. Then they use coercion... ad infinitum, ad nauseum.
As a licensed mental health professional, I have worked with a lot of addicts over the 40 some odd years. Any mental health professional worth their salt will tell you that recovery from addiction requires an investment of self. External forces cannot and do not work in the long run. I spent a year as a parole officer in the early 80s and each and every parolee that I worked with told me that drugs were freely available in county jails, state and federal prisons, even maximum security prisons and are a form of barter.
AA and NA (Narcotics Anonymous) are likely the most successful of programs because those that make it, are able to reach down inside and make that investment of self and can ask for assistance from their higher power. Many are not ready yet, and some will never be ready, their demons are too powerful.
I hope Sheen gets help from a professional that puts the responsibility for his behavior directly on him and that he gains that understanding.

Riiiiiggggghhhhhtttt!

I'd have to guess that this guy is a fraud because IIRC the term academia (including the "academics") is inherently about looking at all sides of an issue in a quest for knowledge. It seems this fellow only wants one side to be smiled upon, making the term academia a misnomer. "Anti-Semite" might be a better term.
I was going to say that they were full of themselves, but we said the same thing using different words. :)
