Estonian Free Press : A Tax to Save the Environment. And Plastic Bags.

Yes and no. Cause the problem could also be the number of small transparent bags people put inside the ones they use as trash bags afterwards. If it would be up to me, I would forget about taxes and I would just take away the free small transparent ones. And forbid the cashiers to wrap anything into them as they do with shampoos and liquids of any kind.

Trust me, I would not drive you nuts - I just care about the way things are done. Once I did not argue when, in Kaubamaja, I overpaid something for a way more than 40EEK since the politeness of the woman who helped me on choosing was worth the "mistake". But the unfriendliness of the girl in the article was hard to believe. And, still, I staid there till the very last moment explaining that it was all about nothing and we could solve it with a 5 seconds solution.

Estonian Free Press : Estonia to Fight Against Illegal Online Gambling

Unfortunately all the EU institutions agree on considering gambling and online gambling one of those exceptions that can live outside the regulations on freedom of movement and can still be regulated at the national level. Bear also in mind that Estonia is doing what Italy, France, Germany and many other EU countries keep doing: it is setting a regulation to speculate on gambling :)

Let's say that...if it was Ryanair, then we could say that it's "Rome"..since last time they sold me an airport as "Frankfurt" without specifying that it was 200kms from the city.. Still, Forlì it's quite an useful destination since is well connected to other low costs routes and it is in a very beautiful part of the country - gree, warm and with excellent food. About the "go home!" part...we could be working on it...but it is harder than how it looks!:)

Estonian Free Press : E-Readers Arrived in Estonia - The Unbearable Lightness of Not Getting One

And I am owned by many of my things, indeed. About the news I am all for you - I am already a subscriber of something and, seeing how much I have been thinking about it before I actually subscribed, to me it means that I give a real value to what they write. Still, I am not sure they will save journalism: if you are asked to write a lot and all the time, how can you be accurate doing it?

Trust me, I am a bad person and I live of my feticism - being books as "things" one of them. I worked in a bookstore - one of those ones where we did not use pc's, where everything HAD to be in our heads...- for the simple reason that customers started to think I was working there...since I used to spend my life strolling around books, pleased of the smell that was coming out of them. I loved books and I love entering my room, back in my hometown, and dive into my life looking at the covers in shelves put there randomly cause - as the collection kept growing, i kept needing new ones. I can see there all my life - the time I was reading Balzac and the one I attempted touching Musil. My first Camus and the small little piece of shit from Gide i bought just because it had its name on the cover.. And I don't want to change this by browsing an iTunes-kind of gallery with the top of my fingers, I really don't. "The piece of paper where it's written something I like doesn't have much importance, with some rare exception." - As you see I disagree cause, yes, it might sound stupid, I love them for their simple being books. Then, about media, you are right. Net allows pluralism and saves trees so - why not. What I was questioning was the real use we make of the tool since - my opinion, so quite useless - it looks like the more we read, get, discover=the less we care about that. I wrote about the plane, haiti and Sepp for the simple fact that, even if those were important facts (more for other people than for me), they anyway got lost in the flow of infos that kept coming no matter what i was doing, where, with whom and how for the simple reason that I was connected. And i don't see why we should somehow encourage this to keep happening more and more... Then, I know about la Stampa. They also have an application for the iPhone and I would love to be able to explain you how much my girlfriend hates the way I abuse of it.

I wouldn't put it in so dramatic terms...after all EU sees someone worse than him..take Berlusconi and his attitude towards Italian press... I just think if Ilves wanted to restart pleasing Ansip after spending quite some good words about Russia..he could find something better than this
