I can think of one way it causes financial harm. No conference football championship with ten teams. Loss of sponsorship revenue for the game. One less game and the loss of memorabilia, clothing revenue. A loss of a recruiting tool for potential students and a loss of free national exposure for recruiting. That may not be that big of a concept to some CU fans. But if you are Texas or OU, it is. If you can go into a top recruits house and say that we have played on National TV x amount of times, then it invaluable. Exposure is one reason CU wants to move west. The PAC 10 wanted the Denver market. They added exposure and potential TV revenue. I am not anti-Buff by any stretch. But, to defend CU's athletic department is mind boggling. Season ticket revenue down, alumni angry and fan apathy and to think everything will be better by going west! Even ii it were to increase their revenue, Bohn has not proven that he can turn anything around. I am sorry but I don't think CU would even have considered moving had they been more competitive in the major revenue producing sports.

Then CU should stop negotiating an early exit! Either they stay or leave early, and if they leave early, they give up their negotiated allotted revenue. Does CU really have the funds to play lawyer chicken? No! Next question. How many people care? 19 comments in two days. Check the student section during the next home football game blowout loss. See how many students are left by games end. Playing in a small stadium, enrollment numbers of 30,000 and CU can't sell out all of it's home games? Your 1,000 pound bison may look tough but in reality isn't. More for show.

It is a bit sanctimonious for CU to demand full buyout fee from Jeff Bzdelik but refuses to pay a full buyout fee to leave the Big 12 early. Why is it an unreasonable for the big 12 to ask CU to fulfill their legal obligation as per the agreement all members signed. Yet, CU balks at fulfilling their legal obligation.

CU doesn't have the money to buy out of the Big 12. They are bluffing and hoping that the Big 12 would rather see them in the Pac 10, 11, or 12 (whatever you want to call it) sooner rather than later. CU could not afford to buy out their head coach.... what makes anyone think they can get into a spitting contest with a conference that has big money players like Texas, OU, OSU and A&M. CU hasn't won on the field and they can't win off the field. The one consolation is that DiStefano is handling the negotiation and not Bohn. While CU is making all these changes, get rid of Bohn. All he has done is make three head coaching hires for his three major sports. One he fired already, one should have been fired, and one was smart enough to know when to get out. When will it get better?

Do you understand logic? Did you ever take an intro to logic 101 course somewhere along your education path? Did you pass? Somehow you believe your twisted logic gives you the right to belittle and deride anyone who doesn't believe in your illogical and emotional conclusion. One question, show me where I support the Catholic church on their opinion of this topic? I comprehend, I comprehend 100%. You are the one that can't make a logical statement, therefore, how can your conclusions be valid. Sorry but your prejudices are getting old and are starting to make me laugh. Therefore, I will end with this, what do you call someone who is not tolerant of others and believe that their viewpoint is the only correct one? Bye Clutch!

So what you are saying is that any state where property taxes pay for schools, the tax exemptions should be removed. What about states where there are alternative means of taxation for public education? Sales taxes, income taxes, casino taxes! Colorado is not the only state in the US. Do you revoke the tax exempt status for all churches; including those that practice Buddhism, Taoism, Islam, Hinduism or any other religion you deem bigoted or hateful? What about the tax exempt organizations that have a foundation based on religious ideals and practices? Such as the Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, the YMCA and the YWCA? Are you going to start taxing them? Catholicism is not Christianity, Christianity is not Buddhism, Buddhism is not Islam. Every religion is based on a believe and value system that individuals make a choice to follow. I am not in a position to make an assumption that someone's values are wrong, nor am I in a position to call an organization a bigoted, prejudicial and hateful superstitious church/school.

Which other entities are you talking about? What is the advantage that churches have? Do you have a problem with this church or all churches. If you want to remove the tax exemption from this church, you must remove the exemption from all churches. In that scenario, you must remove all non profit exemptions Otherwise, you are just cherry picking and forcing your beliefs on others. I would like to hear your explanation on entities that pay taxes vs public or non profits that don't.

I understand tax exempt as does everyone here. What financial ADVANTAGE do they receive in relation to education? The parents still pay taxes plus pay tuition to the school. The church bought the land, built the building and maintains the property. It pay's it bills. The church has a right to their beliefs. You want to remove the tax exempt status from this institution because you do not agree with their views? Where is the tolerance in that?
