Who ever associated the elite progressive with common sense?

Unfortunately, President Obama is so arrogant that he thinks he will be the first to succeed at formerly failed policies. Hard to convince such a man to change his mind.

It is a sad day when our President refuses to see the writing on the wall and make all of us pay for his lack of flexibility in the face of failure. Two years ago when he rolled out his "pipe dream" for green jobs, he was told to look to Spain. Green jobs, cap and trade, greening the environment all failed spectacularly in Spain and caused the cost of energy to sky rocket (hmm, where did I hear that?). Now look at Spain! They are begging the rest of the EU to bail them out. Can anyone see the handwriting on the wall if Obama is re-elected?

It will be interesting to see the finale with Mark and Karl. Who will surprise us with total inspiration? If Mark can continue the woodworking wow factor maybe, but I am betting on Karl for an overall design creator. If Mark wins, it could make a good show doing design around a wood craft focal point. It would pull in a lot of men. Women might be able to get her man to watch with her instead of the other way around.

I have always been a big fan of Design Star, but the last two seasons have been so disappointing. As far as I can see none of them have broad design ideas to put into place no matter what the challenge. Mark is great, but only if he can be inspired by a wood project. If that is absent, so is his design creativity (ex. wedding reception was spent entirely on skateboard project. While great, it was only one design item). Kevin, Karl, Kellie and Meg are more lost in design than create in design. I don't know why Kellie is still here. I guess you have to keep a certain number of designers to get through the entire season.

I thought Meg would be a challenge for Mark, but she gets in over her head everytime in time management. Her designs are not so spectacular that this should be a problem. If I had to pick right now, it would be Mark. He has a great personality for TV and I don't think we HGTV has ever had a show dedicated to designing with wood crafting. Could be a winner. Would definitely appeal to the men and more adventurous women. I would watch it.

To Peace_Not_Pride: #2 quotes: "God “The propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself has ordained.” from George Washington’s first Inaugural address. The first settlers of the colonies came because they were persecuted for their religious beliefs. However, I do not think religion is what drove our founding founders. But, their belief in God was evident in writing the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. There was no specific religion espoused as being part of the government. But men were influenced by their belief n God. So should it be today.

Mr. Frank is a perfect example of the need for the following: We need to convince people to research candidates' voting records before we vote for them. It is our responsibility to KNOW who we elect. Not just their names, but their history. So that is what we should work on and make it a priority for any candidates chosen to represent us. In the coming months, we need one place where we can profile candidates for federal office in 2010. The profiles need to inform as to prior voting records, public scandals, political favors, special interest group influences, etc.

Not just their names, but their history of standing up for their principles. It is not enough to say "I voted". You must believe in who you voted for. Name recognition is the driving force behind most people's vote. So that is what we should work on and make it a priority for any candidates chosen to represent us. They rely on the news which we know is biased toward the liberal views. Similar profile sites could be copied for state and local elected officials and candidates.

Your posting is the real irony. Facts don't seem to be a liberal long suit. You might consider applying for a cabinet post in the Obama admin. This probably isn't the right site for you to post on. Try MoveOn.org.
