I have run myself a comparison between 4 different commenting services (Disqus and IntenseDebate are on the list) and my conclusion is: a) if you are running a blog than IntenseDebate is my recommendation, but if you are running a site (or blog on a not so well known platform), Disqus will probably offer more value.
