Hello, For the SAM method to work, is the original SIM card required at any step? (the SIM on which the phone is currently locked). Thank you!

Hello, From time to time some of my icons go white, they revert after respring or after I install a free cydia app, I don't have any other issues, is the jb complete? should I re-jb? This is on a fresh install with no backup, and I can live with it if there are no other issues that come with this. Thank you! Awesome job DEV TEAM!

Was it on when you dropped it? If it was on, did you manage to shut it down before it could crash? If you got it shutdown in time, you should open it and then set it to dry. If you got it out real quick you should be ok.

Untill we have a bootrom exploit for A5 you should be indeed careful. Once one is found, the tools will be updated. Don't install crappy stuff and stay away from pirated apps.

You should save them anyway, even if right now they are of no use. In the future things should change.

You can't take a 4S and downgrade it to iOS4. You would need official firmware, SHSH File. You can do it only on iPhone 4.

You can't JB without hacktivation. If you require hacktivation, you will have to wait.

Also, please tell me fi the Appstore, YouTube and FaceTime work. These apps don't work if you activate with that method. They didn't for me anyway. Do you have to repeat the process even after jb? everytime you hit the lockscreen?

But will it be activated after? I know this trick, but after jailb (if it works), will it be hacktivated all the way? Most things don't work with this method + once you hit the lockscreen button you have to do it all again. So my question is: Will it be hacktivated after jb ? have you tested it?

We will have to wait for a bootrom exploit to be found. The jb solution out right now uses userland exploits, and it can't hacktivate. Maybe they have already found one but it's not ready to be made public. Who knows.. we will have to wait and see.

In comparison to jailbreaking, it should be easier and I hope he will manage. I belive redsn0w will also be more stable. As he said: "Once all the bugs in the flow are worked out, we’ll also incorporate it into the redsn0w GUI" and that is great news for everyone who has not jailbroken their devices yet.

You should also try channel #greenpois0n on IRC server irc.chronic-dev.org ..sometimes developers have a bit of free time on their hands and give support, maybe you'll be lucky and get a good answer. Worth a try.

How did you manage to jailbreak a NON activated device? My device is stuck right at the begining and I can't get to the icons, menus, etc... it just asks for activation. Did you find a way with CLI ?

I don't have an "Ignore" option, just "Try again". I tried just about everything, nothing works. I'll wait for redsn0w hoping it's better and if it's not, I'll just have to sell my device. From what I remember redsn0w always managed to hacktivate the device, but I could be wrong. Hopefully people sharing my problem will have a complete jb solution when the new redsn0w is out. For the time being, the tools out there will only jailbreak and not hacktivate.
