Good for the NCAA! People are more important than sports. I hope this carries over to all people. If you know a child is being injured and you turn your eyes away fro it and do nothing to stop that child's pain then you are an accomplice. IT IS TIME TO STAND UP FOR ANYONE WHO IS BEING ABUSED!! Only cowards know of suffering and do nothing to stop it.
What a haunting look. This young girl looks so sad. What a tragic end to her young life. I wonder what heartache and experiences she had in her short life. This photo is obviously an official photo of some sort. The catch lights in her eyes show at least 3 light sources. It is a full frontal shot, not portraiture, so it appears to be for ID purposes. Her hair has not been neatly touched up and she is wearing little or no makeup. That seems to indicate that it wasn't her choice to have the picture taken. She has good eye contact and no obvious signs of anger, bravado, shame, etc. She looks resigned and untrusting, like she has been let down and been neglected. Makes me think of the old Beatles tune Elinore Rigby
I hope that Betty fully recovers soon. This story points to the fact that there are true heroes still out there. Don Logan is one of them! He could have easily hung up the phone after realizing that it was a wrong number. He could have decided it was not his problem and that he did not want to get involved. He did neither. He stepped up to the plate. He was chivalrous. He was patient. He was heroic. He helped a stranger in need. I applaud Don Logan and hope we all learn from his sterling example in this. Don't turn a blind eye to those in need when it is in your power to help them.
Lactating Lab, drug history = BYB. I feel sorry for the dogs. Seems like they are viewed as a commodity.
We may not know the motive but we do know a cause. It is lack of love for others. If you love other people you do not harm them. Hate fills too many hearts. People have been used to the look out for number one attitude. This needs to be replaced with what is good for you is good for me. The success of others does not diminish us, it collectively raises us. It is one big planet we live on. We need to stop being so uber competitive.
Thumbs up to Darryl Fisher and Ageless Aviation Dreams. What a wonderful thing to do. Our seniors are a strong and hearty bunch of people. I am very happy to see that they are not forgotten or pushed to the side simply because that have gotten older. We need to value all people and pay back those who have lived before us and contributed to the good in society. Wonderful news!!
So they were not afraid....First responders generally fear that there could be complications and know that there is a high possibility of dangerous results when they try to rescue people in these situations. First responders admit to being afraid. They are smart enough to know being in a drift boat that is stuck on a rock in a cold raging river is dangerous and could have a bad outcome. The heroes have something else though, they have a desire to save people from their own mistakes despite the fears they face while attempting a rescue. Fear is a tool that intelligent people use to gauge the feasibility of what they attempt. Fear does not have to stop people from doing what they enjoy, just allow them to prepare for what could happen so that when it does they will be more prepared. Fear and panic are two different things. Fear cause one to expend the utmost attention and effort to the matter at hand. If one panics, they do not have to proper discipline at that time to function as they should. If one is stuck, as the gentlemen were, they were either afraid and too "proud" to admit it or they lack the smarts to be fearful of such a dangerous situation.
Why no update? Yesterday the RG's site reported an ambulance transfer. Please give more info.
Bryan Moore stated that he witnessed the man breaking into a neighboring house. At the least he was obliged to call 911 to report this. Had I seen this I would have been trying to contact anyone who might be at the home at the time. I would also have called 911 and watched the situation so that I could report to authorities. Due to budget cuts there is not adequate coverage of law enforcement anymore so we ALL need to watch out for our neighbors. That is what community means. This pastor seems not to be like the good Samaritan that he likely references in his sermons. He proves to be more like the priest and the Levite that neglected to render aid. I was not quick to judge as I allowed an out in the possible missing information in the article. I think all decent people need to step up and help others but especially those whose chosen vocation is to "help spread the teachings of Christ."
I should hope the sperm banks would try to screen out criminals, creeps and perverts. I like to know where things come from before I take it into my body. I guess that is why I'm still with the same old geezer.
