I never have anything nice to say about Chicago sports except this post. I have to agree with you, I am a veteran of The Marines and Army respectively I believe in freedom of expression but if this country bothers you for whatever reason please feel to leave. To desecrate a symbol millions have fought for and gave their lives to defend is just disgusting. Thank you Mr. Monday.

Found out Izzo is staying, smart move on his part. Moving to Cleveland uncertain of what to expect, maybe Lebron maybe not? Especially since he's going to most likely win the National Championship with the team he has built. Dan Gilbert may promise him alot but no control over player personnel, LeBron James snubs him, and the fact that he wouldn't make it in the pro's with Cleveland. I am glad that he made his decision. I disagree with you though about taking his time, a big university with kids and money already committed in scholarships and then waiting on someone to fill the vacancy, then trying to keep recruits no thank you. I just hope the games are done, I'm tired of hearing all the courtships and then" let me think about it." If he wants to go pro I say let him he deserves it, just quit playing the games.

Well being a Cardinals and Tigers fan I am loving this. I hate Chicago sports and fans, no offense Jerod. When the Sox traded for Peavy, I thought anybody but the White Sox, guess I have nothing to be concerned about after all.

I live on the outskirts of Detroit and only heard Ernie a handful of times, sad to say but when I did it was wonderful. He would let the people listening, listen to the sounds of the game and made you feel like you were in the stands. When he went on a few radio programs to talk about his terminal illness it was a sad day indeed, to listen to a man with no regrets, wasn't angry about his fate, and had nothing but positive things to say about Detroit, the fans, and his family. The Harwell family knew how much Ernie meant to the city and allowed the Tigers to have his body lie in state next to his statue at Comerica Park. I didn't get a chance to see him in person but I definitely was there in spirit and don't think there was one dry eye. Thank you Ernie, just not for your commentary but thank you for just being a wonderful person.

Reading the posts I would love to give a perspective from a Cardinals fan.. Sosa sucks ass, not because of what he did it was for me, how he did it. In my opinion he was a coward even though nowadays you never admit to what you did voluntary someday a man will atone for his actions. Now with that said, Big Mac isn't much better at least he admitted as much as I hate to admit he really isn't much better because of his intentions he has come clean. Baseball in general is to blame for the MOST part not the players MLB has always looked the other way not condoning what either one has done but Sammy scurried away by going back to his country and hiding. McGwire has come clean, even though it's as sincere as a Tiger Woods apology. Not right but Big Mac still is willing to take some heat.
