I gotta tell ya, I just started watching Mr. Beck and have found that he is non-partisan, and takes a look at facts as they are. That's what we need more of in America. Anyone who thinks he just flat out called Obama a racist for no reason should listen to the 45 minute explanation, it is dead on. The fact is, if Obama's statements, such as, "White people are inbred with a sort of racial cynicism", would be considered incredibly racist if you switched the races and made Obama white.
Is it true that Obama is a racist? I don't know, I don't know the man. But if you hold him to the same standard that Obama himself held the police officer from the Gates fiasco too, then he is.
Not to mention the fact that at least 6 of his special advisors have publicly admitted to being communists who have advocated the overthrow of the US Government.
Those are facts. We have to deal with facts. People should most certainly stop looking at the world from pure emotion and start dealing with facts. That means that people should be more like Glenn Beck.

That is a great article that I whole heartedly agree with. I don't know about your belief system, but I always look for a physical and non-physical meaning with which to place any biblical text into it's proper context. This verse is no different. If having a sword around were a sin, Jesus would not have ordered his followers to buy any. He did, however, order them to not have too many, and to not use them with recklessness or for oppressive purposes.
I believe this would amount to what we today refer to as "responsible gun ownership". I, personally, have a .45 in my bedroom, and since I was a military policeman before I went to college and practice at the range regularly, am properly trained on how to use it. I would not use it unless absolutely necessary, would never be reckless or use it to impose my views on others. But in the instance that someone forcefully entered my home at night in an effort to bring some sort of injury to a member of my family.....I would not hesitate to use it.
There is also a spiritual aspect to the text, which your link does an excellent job of introducing.
I appreciate your taking the time to find this excellent link to educate yourself, and will give you a big thumbs up!

I, being an ordained minister with a Doctorate, was about to quote the same line that RusSEAL did. Jesus was a revolutionary man with many beliefs, one of them was that a man must, at all costs, defend his family. He argued in favor of the right to bear, what in his time was the deadliest of arms, the sword.

I assume the domestic terrorists they are talking about are people who they believe are pro-life, for gun owners rights, for states rights, against illegal immigration, and believers in biblical prophecy.

Hopefully the Tea Party Movement will be extremely unhealthy for the current administration.

How is it that he makes over $250,000 a year and still draws a social security check? I bet if we cut out this sort of abuse of the system, we could save it for future generations.

Great, now millions of Americans are going to be sucked into Obama's way of thinking; that all the problems of the world are caused by America.
But my question is......since Conservative Political books always seem to top Liberal Political books on the best seller list, why do conservatives keep losing elections? That doesn't seem to add up. Maybe it's ACORN padding the voter registries.
