Several years ago, staying at Glacier National Park in Montana, my sister and I drove up to the trailhead for a hike into St Mary Falls. We had been told at the lodge that the bears were still in close, as it was the first week of visitors. So to be aware. At the trailhead a ranger told us, "just make a lot of noise as you hike and you will be fine." OK I'm outta there. I know I missed a beautiful sight, but I just could not do it.
