Yes! Kefir works great in place of buttermilk if you've got it, or plain UNsweetened yogurt, or you can google DIY buttermilk by combining vinegar and milk.

I'm sorry it's been so long now I can't remember how long I baked them in the mini loaf pan. I'd set the timer for 20 and watch them. When the tops start to brown a little, prick them with a skewer or cake tester to see if it comes out clean and they're ready.

I'm sorry I don't remember! But set the timer for about 20 minutes and watch them. Let me know if you get a time on that -- I forgot to add it here in this post and it's been years since I made them now!

Hmmm. It's been so long now, but I don't think you're looking for a pourable batter like pancake batter. Dough isn't a bad thing, as long as it's good and moist and doesn't hold a shape...how'd it turn out??

Regular loaf pan? yes! 50 minutes, give or take. I bet these would freeze nicely. I would wrap them in foil and store in a freezer bag to keep them from getting a freezer taste.

http://emilyshares.blogspot.com/ : Fabric Pom Pom Tutorial

Hi BabyA's Momma! I'm thrilled you love the poms, but that's quite a predicament you're in! It's been a few years since I've made these now, and I remember how heavy they came out, but perhaps your fabric is even heavy/denser than mine was? Your guess is as good as mine at this point -- did you use Gorilla glue by chance? Are the balls you used the thick white styrofoam? My next idea would be to somehow "drill" a hole down the center and string the ribbon through it, tying it in a knot on one side (you could use a washer or a large bead to be sure it won't slide back through the hole). Let me know what you come up with! It's definitely important that you make 'em sturdy before hanging them over the crib!

So glad the post was helpful to you! I haven't tried Grovia, but I've heard positive things about them. Our diapers also have disposable liner options but they get terrible reviews. Apparently they bunch up and are almost as costly as disposable diapers (but I suppose they're a little more enviro-friendly since they're smaller than reg diapers).
