I've heard a lot of about Moonfruit and Weebly. Looked at their sample sites and they look good, too. Wix sounds promising but personally I don't like Flash websites so I guess that's not for me.

GIMP is good as well as Google Analytics. You can never go wrong with Google.

was thinking that if you don't have any money to start on your own, you can just design for now and submit them to people who can print it. like cafe press, threadless, and the ones you already mentioned.

Tried this and was really interested. What I do is think of a theme and take lots of photos of it. For example, basketball. Then I go out and take pictures of my friends playing etc.

just be careful who you talk to though. if they get jealous they might badmouth your biz. but this is the most inexpensive yet effective way of marketing, in my opinion.
