IPhone 4, BB 01.59.00, Firmware 4.1 I am planning to upgrade to a tethered 4.2.1 because of my delayed (most of the time unresponsive) home button. I've tried almost everything (from deleteting all the cydia tweaks, addons, etc) to make my home button responsive but still did not resolve the problem. I am in a desperate mode because it is very frustrating to constantly press the home button so many times. Any advice from the user community whether upgrading to a tethered 4.2.1 a good option or not? Thank you.

Thank you jgodoy2009. I deleted it and still did not work. In fact I deleted all but one still did not resolve. I wonder if there is some special character(s) that Cydia put before deb on the first line of the cydia.list. I copied and pasted.

Thank you for the quick reply. I replied but the moderater has to approve it as i believe I put in URL . . . anyway, it was sinful repo and some others. I am getting cydia home but no sources. I copied and pasted the original content to the cydia.list - and this is when it gave me this error. Don't want to modify anthing else as I'm afraid now.

Thank you very much slavakulikoff . . .I updated the file from /etc/apt/sources.list.d/cydia.list to delete repo.insanelyi. biteyourapple. and repo.hackyourphone. because it was giving me error during cydia start . . . Placed the original file before I modified now I get this error. Now I only have Cydia home and now packages/sources.

My son has a 3gs, 4.0.1, BB 05.13.04, not jailbroken. 1) Can it be upgraded to 4.1? If so, do I use the same process as I4 - using TU then jailbreak. 2) Is the BB unlockable? I couldn't find any decent/clear step by step process. Any help/info is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Do I need to still do Shift + Restore and use the 4.1 ipsw that I downloaded from Tinyumbrella? If I don't do Shift + Restore, it tells me that it will restore and update. Which one should I use. I am utterly confused now. Thx 41willys.

The generic Google.com address does not work - kicks me out of Safari. However, google.com/m/ig/sa=N works. Don't know why! Had to manually type the address and replaced "Google" from Safari Bookmarks.
