FinerMinds : Spiritual Liberation By Michael Bernard Beckwith — Day 9 Of The PhilosophersNotes Challenge

wow Jayne! amazing. That is brilliant, you have just raised the bar on the PN challenge. I am going to review all my readings and notes I have written myself (I have been emailing myself my own highlights from each one) as well as the comments I have posted here. Man. brilliant. That is some quality discipline you have shown. Really inspiring. And now I can see (with help from MBB) that discipline will really pay huge dividends over the long term (gotta stop living short term (apart from in the moment, in day tight compartments) - note to self). Thank you. Thank you too, MBB. I know that I have been neglecting my spiritual discipline, especially in terms of cultivating and living my practice. The equation discipline = blissipline was massive for me. Bring it Laursy! Love to you Jayne

FinerMinds : How To Stop Worrying And Start Living By Dale Carnegie — DAY 3 Of The PhilosophersNotes Challenge

How good is DC...love his style. So real. What smashed me today was "Decide and Rock it" - that formula, man, bang bang bang. I am going to take that on board. I reckon that'll stick an arrow straight through most of my worries. Was going to write "petty worries" but we can all see now (if not before) that all worries are petty, silly even. A waste of time. Which brings me to GBS - how funny is the guy, what an amazing perspective: "The secret of being miserable is to have the leisure to bother about whether you are happy or not"... unreal. I have totally noticed that when I was busy at work, I had awesome days, if I wasn't busy = bored, listless, anxious... (deliberately framed that in the past because now I have some maximum dynamite to blast away worry...booyah!) Awesome choice, Thanks B and DC

I'm catching up... Man. Talk about "real talk", DMR nailed me with those four agreements (in such a good way). All had such an impact. I will definitely be tagging "don't take anything personally" in certain key spots. Also a huge insight came through the summary at the end where Vernon Howard talks about becoming aware of negative aspects of one's character is not a bad thing at all. I have often become aware of something about me I don't like and then sunk into a shame spiral and beat up on myself really brutally. Now, getting the understanding from Howard and Seneca that this awareness is absolutely golden and the pathway to healing and growth is huge for me. I am going to remind myself of these agreements daily. Off to a great start Thanks Edward
