Cyberpunk Nexus : Nexus Reflective Issue 8

Who says you have to have a lot of players? That's a point of view that more players = more activity = better RPing experience. I happen to disagree with that logic myself. I think between 4-6 players is the optimum for a RPG if you intend it to actually have some kind of narrative. The problem with open world concept RPGs is that you give the players the freedom to do whatever they want, freedom that includes not participating in the RPG's story campaign if they don't want to. To me that is counter productive if you're looking to try to craft a compelling story, cause who's to say if anyone will even participate?

That's just from one point of view though, writing isn't the core focus of most RPGs, how well you write is unimportant. With table top RPGs (which is what I see as the basis for forum based RPGs as well) it's about creating a campaign where everyone is having fun. Narrative is very important, but the person most responsible that is your DM (or whoever is running the story) cause frankly without some guidance no story is ever going to get anywhere.

Cyberpunk Nexus : Nexus Reflective Issue 7

Well I got started with RPG before I found MSN Groups, I was 12 when I was first exposed to D&D which I quickly became very much interested in and after running a character for quite awhile I got my first chance to create my own Campaign and never looked back. It was late 2001 when I first found MSN Groups, I was just looking up information on Dragon Ball Z and ended up coming across a RPG (Ultra DBZ RPG) and after joining some non-RP groups that had to do with DBZ and Final Fantasy I eventually joined Ultra DBZ RPG 2 seeing it as kinda like D&D but forum based. I quickly found the lack of order and freeform atmosphere to be something I didn't like so by mid 2002 I was already working on my own DBZ RPG and I've been creating forum based RPGs ever since, attempting to make them more and more like the table top experience.

Cyberpunk Nexus : Nexus Reflective Issue 6

I tend to break my projects down like that. They way I work is once I have the general concepts in my head I put them to paper, at first a stream of thought which I then organize into sections, pages, etc. From there I tend to actually physically break down each section on paper (I usually organize how I want my page to flow, how I want to use images, tables, spacers, etc) for each page and only then do I start actually working on site. Suggestion for future articles: History. Explore the relationships between certain RPG and system lineage.

Cyberpunk Nexus : Week In Review (issue.ii)

Oh Biohazard is certainly still moving just fine, I'm tackling the task of gathering all the stuff I need together first, most notably Images for the locations, items, weapons, etc. With so much going into those sections the shear amount of Images needed as well as the work required to bring them stylistically into the fold is a big step. Once content production starts though It should be relatively quick. As for RF, yes I will post updates weekly if there is weekly news about it.

Cyberpunk Nexus : Upgrades to CPN (update.one)

The chatroom issue is still up in the air, It doesn't look super likely right now that the chats will be integrated into the groups, though it is still not 100% sure that they won't. The forums however will receive theme updates to fit all of the new colors available and if they chats do become integrated they will load inside of the theme so it shouldn't effect them.

Yeah I'm not gonna go that far with the themes, just some new color choices so premium members can set themselves apart some, they also won't have the ads so they will look a little different.

I'm definitely doing red & blue, a lighter one I also want to do, though I will have to remake some of the images to do that, rather then just throwing a color layer on top.
