You're missing the point. This just shows that it's POSSIBLE to put genes into monkeys. They had to start somewhere, and the GFP gene is easy to detect. Now the door is open for more research directly aimed at human health.

I don't believe that they should be charged as sex offenders, but I also don't think it's as harmless as spin-the-bottle. These pictures often get passed around to a lot of people, especially after the guy and girl break up. It can ruin a kid's reputation at school, and have a horrible effect on a person who may already be emotionally unstable. Just look at Jesse Logan, the girl who was betrayed by her ex-boyfriend and killed herself after he shared her photos with the whole school.

I'm for gay marriage, but in my mind the most important thing is that the gay couples have the same legal rights as married straight couples, and they already have that. The only difference between a "domestic partnership" and a "marriage" is the name. Why fight so hard over semantics? Just call your partner your husband or wife and get on with your lives.

Yes, but the difference here is that there have been healthy young adults that have died. Normally most influenza deaths are the young, the elderly, and the immune compromised. Plus it isn't flu season right now, so some people may not have been taking as many precautions, and there is no vaccine for this strain yet. All of this together is reason for concern.

Please explain what you mean by "closing the border." If you simply mean not allowing Mexican citizens to cross the border, that would not have helped. This disease has also been brought back on planes by American citizens who traveled to Mexico. Are you suggesting that the dems should have made it illegal to travel to Mexico, as well? Or do you mean shutting down travel to and from Mexico temporarily to contain the disease? That may not be a terrible idea.
