The ants decide to fight back using “hired guns” (circus bugs) which fails and the grasshoppers are mad. At the end of the show, the ants figure out what the grasshoppers knew all along…there’s strength in numbers. A few dozen grasshoppers are no match against thousands of ants united in purpose. “We the People” of these, the United States are under similar attack from Washington. We are forced to work for months to pay taxes (at least some of us) so a corrupt Congress and a President with socialist policies can spend them on things we don’t agree with; so corrupt Senators and Representatives can figure ways to line their and their donor’s pockets due to greed and dishonesty. I was recently watching "A Bug's Life" with my 4 year-old son and I was amazed at the parallels to what is going on in the U.S. right now. For those of you that have not seen the movie or if it has been a long time, let me re-cap. The movie is about a colony of ants that is being bullied and persecuted by a group of tyrannical grasshoppers. The grasshoppers force the ants to gather food for them through the summer so the grasshoppers can play (or do whatever it is cartoon grasshoppers do). The ants spend most of the summer collecting food for the grasshoppers which leaves them little time to gather food for themselves.
