That's what you would think but some of the worst schools in the country spend the most money per student. For example Washington DC is in the bottom 4 for graduation rates (59%) and still spends approx 25K per student. While the Average private school in DC spends about 12K per student. The problem is public schools are run by the government and the public has no choice in which school they attend. If every parent could take a voucher and send their child to a school of their choice, the bad schools and teachers would be forced out and the good schools and teachers would prosper. Quite simply the government never preforms as well as the free market.

you got to nip bad behavior in the bud, if you correct them early you can avoid spanking. If you let them get out of control they will need to learn it the hard way as they get older.

In most cases the problem is not underfunding but wasteful spending. What we need in this country is competition in schools. the best schools would thrive and the worst and most wasteful schools would fail and all along the kids would win!

bad idea, the best help is provided by those who want to help not those who are forced to be there. Just think about how helpful your kids are when they don't want to help!
