I disagree. Holmes was always a badass street fighter. Pro boxer, swordsman, etc. The one story I read he 'casually' unbent a iron rod. This has always been an aspect of his charactor the stories simply focused on his other traits. There are many sides to the talented Mr. Holmes :)

*shruggs* I saw the trailer and it looked 'meh', you know? Plus the CG in the trailer looked horrid. I dunno, might be a fun renter but it could so easily go very, very wrong.

Wow, I've gotta agree with the whole fan fellatio thing. Summit seems to be very aware of the fact that the success of the film was due almost entirely to the preexisting (and crazy) fanbase. I've never heard of this much fan suck up before.

A proper adaptation should not be a word for word translation of the book. Many things will have to change in order for it become a well made, non crappy movie. I mean, if they were to loose the cheestastic dialogue I might actually go see the sequel. Mass appeal is necessary for the franchise to be succesful. However it's starting to look like they're just going to piggy back the success of the novels rather then commit to actually making a quality movie experience.

I just recently read a whole whack load of the Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle so I'm super stoked for this! Holmes boxed in his youth, was in amazing shape and constantly went in 'disguise' to the rougher parts of London. It looks like those aspects of his charactor will deffiantely be on display.

It's actually kind of interesting how much of what people 'think' is Sherlock Holmes actually came about after the stories. It's an classic charactor and having it reinvented by such an amasing actor will be a treat to see. If a person wants to see the 'old school' Sherlock there are allready plenty of perfectly good movies about him. I want something fresh and new! Let's have some fun with this amasing literary legend.

I'm sorry but whether or not Aang is Asian can be argued forever, but it IS obvious to anyone with eyes that Sokka and Katara are not white. And Jesse McCartney as Zuko? SERIOUSLY? That is NOT an easy charactor to pull off and I'm sure as hell that Jesse don't got the acting chops for it, regardless of how much of a pretty boy he may be.

I think it's becoming quite clear that the target audience for this film will be much lower then a lot of us had hoped for. Poor Avatar, it tried so hard to rise above the stereotypes of American animation only to be sucked into the stereotypes of American film.

To be honest I would be willing to give the sequel a chance as long as it doesn't look like total crap. Twilight from the get go looked like a bad movie, and the few things that looked good weren't things that could be attributed solely to the director. A change of director is an excellent idea. However, rushing the poor thing is most likely just going to make things worse. The werewolf effects in New Moon will most likely take a considerable amount of post production time to make work properly. Without that time... well, it won't be pretty.

I'm sorry, but I don't think it's fair to equate attending Sundance with being anti LGBT. That's very close minded, which I think is the opposite of what you wish to be. There was no way on earth Sundance could have been moved and it will not be moved and hurting the people who work hard on these movies is not the answer to the problem.

Is that seriously Night Watch on Blu Ray??!! Damn, I need to get me a PS3. :(
