You say this will create the pressure to win on the field. My question is why wasn't there pressure to win before? How does a two-year extension make his seat warmer? The person who needs to be concerned is Greg McDermott. Gets players back and a decent recruiting class equals the largest expectations since he's been there and if he doesn't deliver Pollard has positioned himself to fire him and bring in someone else who will have enough time to turn the program around by 2014. Why couldn't Iowa State just wait and see what progress the football and basketball teams make in the next two years before extending him?
