yesss! i fully agree - my motto is 'you can' get out from your skin, let' see what you can (and should) do while you're in it'! i love/appreciate life & act as much as i can (although do practically nothing on physical level), just looking forward to a.p. to illuminate my quest for some answers and possibly visit some very dear but distant friends that i can't physically!...

The Art Of Astral Proj... - Ask Steve (Vol.9):
my question is probably too personal, unique for being included in 'f.a.q.', but i just need to ask someone who might understand and possibly encourage me:
i'm very strongly/seriously drawn to astral projection! looks logical, because i'm quadriplegic+mute (locked-in syndrome, type with my head)). some spiritually 'high ranked' people confirmed my idea (actually an acient one) that 'all is in head', so that i managed to meditate, even do reiki (ii degree).
now, the problem is that i cannot control my breathing (+my breath is extremely shallow), and i'm spastic! these problems i handle when i regularly meditate or send reiki, but as i prepare for sleep and do some 'mental gymnastics' involving deep breath attempt and countdowns, i start yawning heavily+frequently, which triggers spasms (including my diaphragm, thus affecting my concentration&breathing)!...
my question would be: does it make sense at all to involve in astral projection under such circumstances? i read in robert monroe's 'yourneys out of body' or robert bruce's astral dynamics' that many actions are needed for ap preparation! is it enough to +visualise+ these? is there any way to reduce yawning? (as soon as i start feeling surges of energy, i start to spastically yawn, so i never reach vibrations stage...)
thanks!

thanks for visit! (technically, it's not a blog, but a regular, old fashioned one-way static website!...)
and the kids are now 20, 2x16 and 13! they don't know for my growing interest in the spiritual dimension. actually, very few friends know for it - more or less. not that i would hide it, but i don't like to stress it, mention my intentions and plans if they're not fully shaped, firm, clear - otherwise they raise a bulk of questions (from others), and i can't respond quickly enough, especially since i myself am still uncertain abt. answers to this bulk of questions! first i must search some issues myself, as thoroughly as possible, *do* sthg. by myself, and then show it or speak of it from my experience, when i gain some credibility - everything other is futile!...
that is - *if* i decide to "speak" extensively at all! debates, polemics and similar confronting *quid-pro-quo* affairs *against* sbdy. are extremely strenuous (mentally/emotinally/physically) for me, so i avoid them. (not avoiding fight, though - aikido is my choice!) i'm happy with my achievments, eg. haiku/photography, but also gaining (& slowly implementing) much knowledge of spirituality, and with the fact that most people feel good in my presence. they love me, i love them, and that's the ultimately important thing! (as sai baba said: "love all, serve all!")...
in short, i see myself more like richard, than like donald shimoda (for the time being, at least) - have you read r. bach's 'illusions'? a charming little book, my 'bible' for almost 30 years! ;-}
but, oh! i started to off the topic, sorry! ;-}

thanks for your response! :-}
naturally, astral projection is my primary, omnipresent choice!
yes, i've been trying to grasp my oobes (i.e. to astral project) for several years already, but, alas, with no success by now!... and yes, i already follow that blog you recommend – thanks for that, too!... :-}
oh, btw i forgot to share the story that based my attitude 10 years ago & sums up my original post (i put it at my website, so you can read it here: http://www.rnda-drnda.org/blabla/pages_blabla/$_p... :-}

being a mute quadriplegic for 10 years now, i soon became strongly drawn to the human energetics issue! no wonder, since i'd been interested in the mind-body interconnection even before my stroke(s) (exercising mushindo kempo & yoga) and searching for a spiritual anchor critically drifting among different religions.now i'm even more critical towards *any* religion and explore spirituality outside their boundaries. ('spirituality' is for me the realm beyond the mainstream, materialistic, 'officially' understood (and set) viewpoint of life as the definite existence!) i think of life as merely a manifestation of existence (a nice idea on which all religions are based upon, but when they start to introduce dogma, i say 'no, thanks')!
my strokes led me (and i'm grateful for this, considering them a blessing) to explore (& possibly cross) the limitations of human body as well, in the sense to act, influence, heal by purely thinking, intent, not deploying any media, including my body! while having the 1st attunement in reiki, i started spontainously to do distant healing – unable to lay my hands, but able to *visualize* it! now, having the 2nd attunement, i don't feel need to use the distant healing symbol at all!
now, a lady (an experienced meditator) told me that the only true prerequisite for meditation is *mind*. burt (goldman) confirmed this to me, as well as judith conroy in an interview with angelique, your predecessor... i don't think of myself as an accomplished healer (yet), but i tread that path! i don't stick to any healing system, but cook slowly an intuitive mixture of silva method, burt's mind box, reiki and (my poorest knowledge) qi gong.
i see you are quite experienced in this stuff so you are heartly welcome! i feel you're able to share much interesting issues, from which many people will benefit - also the non-standard individuals like myself!... (yet another child of the 60's) :-}
