Little White Lies - Independent Film Magazine : The Posters Came From The Walls

They aren&#039;t all bad. Two examples that come to mind recently are Antichrist: <a href="http://www.viceland.com/blogs/uk-film/2009/12/21/how-to-sell-antichrist/" target="_blank">http://www.viceland.com/blogs/uk-film/2009/12/21/...</a> &amp; the recent Lost marketing: <a href="http://damoncarltonandapolarbear.com/dcpb/x/" target="_blank">http://damoncarltonandapolarbear.com/dcpb/x/</a>

Little White Lies - Independent Film Magazine : Where The Wild Things Are

The film was flawed, mainly with the script. I really think Jonze needed Kaufman just for that extra bit of experience. However, I don&#039;t care at all. I absolutely adored the film as it is. Like everyone&#039;s been saying it&#039;s a film about childhood for adults and it captures the spirit of that perfectly. Really loved it. 5/5/4

Cera peaked early with Arrested Development (probably my 3rd fav TV show ever). However I still love him (even if just for that) and this looks like it could be his best role since.

Little White Lies - Independent Film Magazine : James Cameron's Avatar Approaches

Personally I&#039;ve never been looking forward to Avatar. Originally I thought it was an Adaptation of this: <a href="http://foitv.com/img2/avatar-the-last-airbender-v4xi.jpg" target="_blank">http://foitv.com/img2/avatar-the-last-airbender-v...</a> so didn&#039;t bother with it. And then I found it was James Cameron, still nothing there for me (excluding Aliens and personal nostalgia for The Abyss). But overall the film just doesn&#039;t look good to me. The blue &#039;Avatars&#039;(?) don&#039;t look great, the story seems poor, it sounds like it&#039;s going to be incredibly predictable and way too long etc. The obscene budget and hype just makes all these points worse for me. The only bits that really interest me at all is the real test to see how 3D can work in live action films.

My teacher produced this film. It definitely seems like an English Gran Torino, but hopefully that means it won&#039;t be full of contrived anti racism themes and a self indulgent Clint.

Little White Lies - Independent Film Magazine : 9

I saw this a month or so back while I was in the states. Having really enjoyed the short when that was first about, I was looking forward to a feature length adaptation. The first thing I noticed was how dark and bleak the film was (which was really wonderful, the CG landscapes look amazing) and how it had pretty much cut off the kids audience that CGI films usually bring. A handful of allusions to communism and themes of humanity really set up for a great film. Unfortunately it seemed to end there. Just dragging on a forgettable story and bland character development. I still enjoyed the film, but it really missed out on (easily) being something really great.

Little White Lies - Independent Film Magazine : Toy Story 3 - Trailer Talk

This is a nice idea. I&#039;m a massive fan of film trailers. They can be wonderful works in their own right (see wild things trailer) but can also be a really poor cut down version of the film. On Toy Story 3, Pixar can still do no wrong in my eyes (maybe the idea of Cars 2, but that&#039;s not been made yet), so I still think this will be great.

Little White Lies - Independent Film Magazine : Ghost In The Shell 2.0

I still think the sequel is a superior film all round. I was really excited about this when I first heard it announced. The original GITS remade in the quality of the 2nd (keeping the original script/pacing etc). Shame they have just updated the original with a new soundtrack and a few unnecasary cgi scenes.

Little White Lies - Independent Film Magazine : Pondering Ponyo On The Cliff

I noticed the distincy Disney tone of the &#039;Ponyo&#039; trailer when it first came out. I am now torn between seeing it on a big screen (dubbed) or downloaded but subbed. It seems a shame as both Spirited Away and Mononoke (the latter in particular) have excellent dubs which are probably the only 2 dubs I ever watch.
