These actors are only irritating if one makes the mistake of taking them seriously. Paltrow, and others like her, are not normal. They have piles of money and an inflated sense of self-importance due to the curse of "fame". They actually believe -- we're taught to believe -- their opinions are valid and important. People like her are, in essence, no different from small children who "play pretend". She's surrounded by people who perpetuate the sad lie of her importance. She really should be pitied for what amounts to a wasted life. She never has, and never will, get to experience the kinds of things which build character and cause us to mature as normal human beings. Seriously, I feel sorry for these people. They're living in a prison of illusion, lies and "yes men", but think they're living a wonderful life in a castle. It's all very sad and I wouldn't trade places with one of them for *anything*.

We live at a time when people are way too cynical and critical. Look, this is just one example of entertainment, out of thousands. If you don't like it, then don't watch it. There's no need to put it down or to criticize Mr. Van Dyke simply because you don't care for this particular performance. Participate in what you enjoy and leave others to do the same. I can't help but to add that most of you will never live 85 years, much less be fit for any kind of work should you reach that ripe old age. Give the man credit for not just sitting at home wasting away his days. I think what he is doing is fantastic.

Let me see . . . Al Gore created the internet, Harry saved the world, Ted Kennedy was a lifeguard, Clinton did not have sex with "that woman" and Obama gave us an open, transparent government with five-day on-line access to bills and cameras in every meeting. Oh, and Nazi Pelosi says the Catholic Church supports abortion. Oooookay. Time to send in the nice men with those funny white coats that tie in the back.

As Dear Old Dad would say, these people were hit with the big end of the ugly stick. Okay, lets pretend Hollywood didn't exist (please, God, make it so!) and these delusional freaks had to find real jobs. Based on appearance alone, where would you expect to see them working?

My answers: The bald dude looks like either a mortician or someone who works at a mattress store. The middle one looks like a freaky piano teacher while the one on the right says "running a register at a tattoo/piercing shop would be pushing the limit of my abilities". There you have it. Real Life losers=Hollywood royalty.

Bill Maher' has accomplished nothing of value in his entire life. He is too in love with himself to even get married, meaning, he has never been able to man-up and make that commitment. The guy is in his 50s now and enjoys creeping around the Playboy mansion gawking at equally self-centered and brainless girls in their 20s. Why, oh why, does this vapid old creeper have a TV show in the first place? Do people actually watch his show? Not only have I never seen it, I've never even passed it channel surfing.

What gives him the right to be taken seriously about anything apart from the entertainment business? Oh well, maybe he's just one of George Soros' little lap dogs who performs tricks for financial treats.

Mexico's problems can be summed up in three words: Massive Government Corruption.

The police and the politicians have been corrupt for decades. Therefore, the inmates are now running the asylum.

Mexico has the workforce and the resources to be a world superpower. Their sin is allowing the thugs to "buy off" those who are in power and thus rule the country.

Until the Mexicans get sick of this and rise up against the corruption, we need to close the border and enforce the immigration laws. US companies should also be banned from continuing to build factories in Mexico.

Basically, we need to shun Mexico until it cleans up it's act. If we do that, Mexico would eventually prosper and their people wouldn't have to come here for work. Problem solved.

You're 100% wrong. If drugs were legal they'd be taxed. If they're taxed they'll cost more. If they cost more, drug users will still seek out untaxed, illegal drugs. Which means, the same problems that exist today would continue.

All you would be doing is adding additional layers of government and more law enforcement in order to enforce and monitor the "legal" drugs.

The ultimate answer is 1) drastically shrinking government. 2) drastically shrinking taxes and 3) Arming the citizens so we don't need such a massive police force.

Once we accomplish the three items above, then we'll talk about drug laws. Focusing on drug laws as a first priority is totally backward and would be counterproductive.

Obama's solution? 1) Take AZ to court, 2) blame America for Mexico's gun problems, 3) amnesty for all illegals.

Obama is either a complete fool, or, he's trying to create unrest and chaos within America, as described in Saul Alinsky's _Rules For Radicals_

Tiger should shut up, ditch his endorsement contracts and just play golf. Maybe a few years down the road people would forgive him. This is just the same old self-indulgent behavior channeled in a different direction. I'm not buying it . . .

16 years ago @ Breitbart.com - Moscow mayor calls gay... · 0 replies · +1 points

"Homo" = "same". Phobic = "irrational fear". Thus, "Homophobic" = an irrational fear of things which are the same. So, how can they claim Moscow's mayor is "homophobic"?

My point is, the word "homophobic" is meaningless in regard to homosexuality.

And, a rejection of homosexuality has absolutely nothing to do with having an irrational fear of the behavior itself. I know of no one who has an "irrational fear" of homosexuals. Disapproval, or even hatred, does not necessarily imply an "irrational fear".

If homosexuals want to be taken seriously, they need to be intellectually honest and stop using a meaningless term to describe their detractors.

Example, do staunch democrats have an irrational fear of republicans?
